They are told to ‘be safe’ yet we all know the clear backpacks symbolize that every child could be a threat.
They are told to be kind but we know that bullying and sexual harassment has increased dramatically with a man who needed a fixer at the bully pulpit.
They are told to respect the flag, but may have heard that Trump refuses to fly the flag at half-staff for a national war hero.
They hear you can grow up to be President. But the girls know how hard that is and the boys don’t have a good current role model.
Every day is a considered good, if they come home safe from gun violence, bullying and harassment. <end>
