Papadopoulos team says that when he suggested setting up a Trump/Putin meeting, Trump "nodded with approval" and Sessions said the campaign should look into it.
"He hoisted himself upon his own petard."
Papadopoulos's lawyers say he also told Greece's foreign minister that Russia had dirt on Clinton.
The new memo from Papadopoulos's lawyers is a response to this rather scathing sentencing memo from Mueller's side two weeks back, which portrayed him as unhelpful and recommended his incarceration for up to 6 months: documentcloud.org/documents/4776…

1. A great find by @tracybeanz in the George Papad.apoulos case. Seems that the Mueller Special Counsel team has filed a motion with the court to seal discovery & impose restrictions on what Pdop's defense team can reveal from discovery provided by the DOJ & FBI.
@tracybeanz 2. There a few issues with this that are very telling. For the uninitiated, Discovery is the process where the prosecution & law enforcement are required to hand over any exculpatory evidence that may show the defendant is not guilty of the crime.
