The funny thing is... the people who do the features are the ones who get promoted even if it's shit, the ones who fix bugs dont, so until the incentives shift people will fight over the tasks needed to get ahead.
If I was queen of the world (fuck that'd be cool) the people who clean up the mess of others would get promoted.

I mean all the bug fixers could just unionize or something, make the others clean up their own mess, just thowin it out there

Strong agree. Everyone wants actual isolation, but tbh I’m not sure k8s is the best abstraction for the job. It’s so complex and leaves so much room for error. One config gone wrong or one missed patch and it’s game over for your cluster.
You’d need to hire a perfectionist to set up your cluster perfectly and then maintain it for eternity and at that point might as well just build your own orchestrator you trust. And have a team continually pass it down.
It’s a trade-off invest in one of the few people in the world who can actually create a secure cluster or hire folks who can schedule VMs on different nodes. It’s not rocket science, just code.

If you haven't seen it "The Power of Introvert" TED talk is great, Susan Cain talks about how she forced herself to be a extrovert to blend/prove she could, but then goes into how introverts bring extraordinary talents & abilities to the world ted.com/talks/susan_ca…
It talks about how Introverts are often great leaders and managers because they let the people below them shine and are not afraid of that versus extroverts might get so excited by something they overlook other ideas.

They’ve replaced turtles with repos. It’s repos all the way down.
I’ve worked at a lot of different companies and this is the one that most closely aligns with the weird world I created for my infrastructure etc.

A funny thing about dog panics that I learned from Bronwen Dickey's book...
In the 1870s, Americans lost their shit over ANOTHER type of dog believed to be uniquely vicious. They pointed to stats that alleged most bites came from that kind of dog. There were formal bans. Dogcatchers rounded them up and clubbed them to death.

Why did Dr Christine Blasey Ford not know that Senate Republicans offered to send investigators to her home (or ANYWHERE of her choosing) to interview her?

This option was offered to her several times, and yet she testified under oath, she had NO IDEA that this was an option.
The outcry from Democrats towards Brett Kavanaugh DEMAND that the FBI investigate him, is a freak side-show attempt to distract from what really happened (or didn’t happen in this case).

Defendants DONT SPECIAL-ORDER an FBI investigation on themselves! You KNOW this!

Okay for real. I’m all for debates about open source. But we have to start acknowledging that part of why it’s impactful *is because it’s free*.
Most OSS has no (economic) worth until many ppl use it to create *something else* valuable. If you built that same thing and tried to charge ppl initially, it wouldn’t work.
It seems obvious, but it is such a big part of why people don’t want to pay for it even after it accrues value.
