A 9 year old Australian girl was suspended today because she wouldn’t stand during the national anthem. Her reasoning was that she feels it disregards the indigenous aboriginals who were here before us. I’ve never seen SO many people mad over a 9 year old telling the truth.
There was one comment that said “take her to a museum to teach her the history of the country she lives in.” I’m sorry, Australia doesn’t have a museum showcasing the massacre committed by white settlers. They don’t teach that in school, let alone have it on display at museums. 
I’ve seen comments saying that it has happened over 200 years ago & everyone should get over it because the gov. throws “billions” at them. The fact that people think that the gov. trying to compensate the indigenous for their own guilt like it erases what they did is insane.
There’s a “myth” that before 1967 the aboriginals were listed as flora and fauna. Everyone says it’s a myth but the referendum was to include aboriginals in determining the population of Australia. SO BEFORE THE 1960’s THEY WERE NOT EVEN COUNTED AS PEOPLE.
