i upgraded my bandsaw because the old one was Hot Garbage. that's what was in the box
i bought a bandsaw two? years ago and have been *extremely* frustrated with it. well it turns out that if your bandsaw is smaller than 14", it was made out of pot metal and limericks and isn't worth a god damn
it can take sizable blades, has a 13" rip capacity. i could, conceivably, make 2x12 boards out of raw lumber. supposedly.
Here's an interesting industrial design decision: The rip fence has a pad at one end presumably to reduce sliding friction, and it's absolutely a piece of unplated FR4 circuit board phenolic.
The rip fence itself is a 6" wide extrusion with 1/4" walls. I've never held an extrusion this heavy.
I also like the blade wheels, which are gigantic and look much more refined than the ones in most bandsaws, which look like steampunk wagon wheels
motor's big enough I might actually have to get a 220V outlet wired up to avoid tripping breakers or starting a fire. We Shall See
