Great question from @mademarest about how change comes to Trump supporters. I have a few thoughts from a psychological perspective. As we have all experienced,it’s very difficult to engage them due to strong confirmation bias,cognitive dissonance defense,limited sources of info.
My hope is they see his betrayal on issues like military,corruption,tax fairness & patriotism. His not donating on 9/11,not going to Arlington on Vetern’s Day, not spending VA$ & not going to church expose his lack of credibility on those issues.
We know Trump doesn’t care about them,in fact looks down on them. I am 100% certain change in them won’t be due to liberals trying to educate or teach them with confrontation & facts. It won’t work. Their defenses are too high,trust too low.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, mentally exhausted & need to take time away from the news and twitter its normal. If you’re feeling persistently disempowered it’s understandable. (1)
Our cognitive capacity is limited. That’s why you don’t know how many mailboxes you drove by on your commute & didn’t listen to the signal from your right pinky until I mentioned it. We are cognitive misers to manage this. (2)
The pace of Trump’s admin& the events it triggers is a daily assault on our capacity to take it in, understand it, then act.Every day there seem to be several important things you need to attend to & act on.The next day they get up-ended by new ones. You never get closure. (3)

Well I said I would make a thread about Elizabeth Warren, who is another possible presidential contender I continue to see getting brought up so let's get started.

People often ask me to contrast racism and racists in France and the United States.. I prefer to draw connections, but here is one significant difference..
Racists in the United States know very little about geography, history, philosophy or world events -- regardless of their level of education. French racists think they know a lot about geography, history, philosophy and world events and yet they're still racially ignorant AF.
In some ways, French racists are even more obnoxious and revolting than U.S. racists because French people have been (mis)educated to believe that they are culturally and intellectually superior to almost every other group globally (including other Europeans).
