DOJ has responded to @CNN's lawsuit seeking to reinstate @Acosta's hard pass. "The public interest does not require that Mr. Acosta be given immediate access to the White House complex. The public can benefit from his reporting outside the complex" while CNN's case is in court.

DOJ says the public is "well-served by the numerous other journalists who retain their hard passes and who will continue to tenaciously ask questions at press events."

DOJ's defense of the White House's decision to pull @Acosta's pass offers a different explanation than @PressSec first offered. The claim that he was "placing his hands on a young woman" is gone. DOJ says he "disrupted the fair and orderly administration of a press conference."

Cannot wait to experience this mythical "fair and orderly press conference."
