Knowledgeable source tells me that White House forced out Pentagon Chief of Staff Rear Admiral Kevin Sweeney (ret.)
Official title was “Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense.”
Sweeney was going to leave within a couple months, having worked directly for Mattis, but WH forced him out before he wanted to leave, knowledgeable source says.

UPDATE: There seems to be some confusion about whether he's a staffer, a contractor, or a volunteer. I've confirmed he works for the Office of the Vice President, but he may have been moonlighting because this was a campaign event.

Compare and contrast.

I know no apology will be forthcoming from the leaders of the @whca - so I plan to keep reminding the public of their egregious behavior whenever possible.
