NEW: Suspected #MAGABomber Cesar Sayoc pleads not guilty. Trial date set for July 15.
Sayoc, in a navy prison uniform, didn’t say a word during the hearing. He pleaded through his attorneys.
U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff, a rather droll wit, kicked off proceedings asking whether Sayoc's attorneys would waive an "hour and a half" recitation of the indictment.

Giggling, Sayoc's attorney Sarah Baumgartel waived it.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Emil Bove said prosecutors are still canvasing for surveillance video, including from the Florida post office. They anticipate calling forensic experts on explosives and destructive devices and DNA and fingerprint analysis.

Take the quote: “Impeach the motherfucker.”

It seems to me that a serious journalist should contextualize the operative verb “impeach.” The noun “motherfucker” typically requires little additional context.
For instance, how many people know that the day Rep. Tlaib made that remark, she co-wrote an op-ed with a constitutional attorney laying out the grounds they would cite?

Or that, a day earlier, her colleague Rep. Sherman announced plans to introduce articles of impeachment?

Reminder: The Trumpified-Department of Homeland Security, whose spokesman is seen here echoing White House’s anti-press attack line, has been compiling a database of journalists and “media influencers,” including by “sentiment.” 🔽 biglawbusiness.com/homeland-secur…
This spokesman called that database “standard” and suggested that it’s tin-foil hat territory to question whether they would use it responsibly.
It should be added that the substance of @SpoxDHS’s statement is pure and reprehensible disinformation: The CNN story quotes a TSA official by name without a denial, in a story whose deep sourcing speaks to its clear credibility.
