CHAMPLAIN, N.Y. - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers made seven separate narcotics seizures during this past holiday weekend.
CBP officers at the Champlain Port of Entry encountered three 19-year old U.S. citizens and one 20-year old U.S. citizen traveling together and discovered all four individuals to be in possession of personal use quantities of marijuana.
All four subjects were issued $500 penalties for failure to declare.

Also at the Port of Champlain, Officers seized 14.8 grams of THC oil and 0.3 grams of marijuana which was discovered inside the vehicle of a 26-year old U.S. citizen who claimed ownership of the narcotics.
In a separate incident, 0.83 grams of MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, was discovered in the trunk of a vehicle belonging to a 21-year old citizen of Canada. In both cases, the subjects were arrested and along with the narcotics, were turned over to New York State Police.
CBP officers at the Rouses Point Port of Entry encountered a 52-year old U.S. citizen aboard the Amtrak train claiming to be returning from Montreal after visiting family. The subject was found to be in possession of 75.88 grams of THC oil and 3.68 grams of marijuana.
The subject was arrested and along with the narcotics, turned over to New York State Police.

“Our CBP Officers consistently work to keep narcotics out of our community,” said Champlain Area Port Director Steven Bronson.
“Officers work tirelessly to secure our border, ensuring that illicit items are not entering our country to keep our country safe.
