This isn't chemistry. This isn't talent. This team's mentally broken because the shit show to start this season was allowed to go on too damned long. Nothing looked right from day one, and not in a "work it out" kind of way.
Instead of giving Yeo a shorter leash and jerking a knot in this team's ass, the FO kept allowing the team to be placed in a situation that allowed bad hockey to be played without an opportunity to fix it.
And the front office has been sitting there since last season trying to put lipstick on a pig with decent FA pickups without fixing fundamental issues of team culture and expectations. Team culture doesn't start with the players, people.
This team's culture has been one of complacency with the occasional panic fit whenever stuff slips. They've always been fine with keeping things status quo with some tweaks to make fans happy for the time being that never have long term impact.
Until Doug Armstrong is fired this team isn't going to change. You can shuffle players like deck chairs on the Titanic all that you want to but the outcome is always going to be the same.
