The NTA/Council spent €12,000 hiring an international expert on cycling then wilfully ignored his advice, re-inventing the Dodder Greenway five years later, with a poor plan that forced pedestrians and cyclists into conflict. Money well spent. They clearly didn't listen.
Dublin has done little on cycling infra. Liffey Cycle planning started 2011. Dodder Greenway planning started 2013. GDA Cycle Network practically nothing delivered since 2013. But sure the NTA gives out about Colville-Anderson being out-of-date. Clearly so much has changed.
Also 👏👏👏 @sanzscript for another fantastic article in @thetimesIE. Hearing @copenhagenize's take on cycling in Dublin is interesting and insightful.

[Thread]: I've finished reading the full inspector's report on the College Green Plaza decision. It's an interesting read and includes lots of interesting insights. I'm personally disappointed but refusal isn't unreasonable. #CollegeGreen
The decision says the principle of the development is acceptable. The four issues are the unclear traffic modelling; the impacts on bus passengers; can the quays support more buses; and failure to demonstrate that quays footpaths can support new bus passengers.
The current situation in College Green is poor for all users. It needs a coherent plan. It's hard to walk around right now because of number of pedestrians and waiting on narrow footpaths. The Luas and buses need change too. There's too much competition for too little space.

... my preferred route was docking to the EFTA pillar of EEA (without signing up to EFTA) which is a bit like Chequers but with Gov ratification before laws are passed. However, the no deal option under WTO is not ideal but can be made to work.
However, an even better route would have been DiEM25 but the chances of the EC reforming willingly and putting an end to this neoliberal monster was always a bit of a fantasy.

That you're white isn't the reason you should NOT RT this piece. It's cuz you don't have 'locus standi', to use a legal term. More importantly, you're 100% devoid of context when you read this & surmise what you posit in your tweet. A fallacy, cuz you lack depth of understanding.
It's a different matter that you might even have political alliances that we don't know or can trust, and we have no reason to believe that you have our best interests at heart. Who are you, and what credentials do you have to pontificate @carlmalamud on IN? Just #hired activism.
If we dig up the organisation then perhaps we'll be able to figure the plan. But how did this article, that's busted a month ago, suddenly come up now? Just after Kerala floods & Thoothukudi. This was #KA election narrative, which electorally went bust. But now being #refreshed.
