I'm sharing this story to give hope to someone out there who might be going through life threatening situations or is trying to give up on life.
Today, I'm one year Post-Cancer free & I'm very much happy God saw me through when I was faced with a life threatening sickness.
The year 2017 was a horrible year for me & my family. It all started in April when my right leg started swelling towards the end of 2nd term at the Nigerian Law School Abuja. Immediately we vacated, I traveled to UNTH Enugu for surgery thinking it would be something of 2/3 weeks.
At UNTH Enugu, I spent 7wks where I did series of scan and incision biopsy. When the result of the biopsy came out after several weeks, I was told that it was Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma(NHL) that I would do Immunohistochemistry to confirm the class of NHL but they don't have d machine
The doctor at UNTH advised that the immunohistochemistry be done in UK where they have standard machines & that they have partnership with Queen Mary University Teaching Hospital. We paid & the biopsy slide was taken to UK for immunohistochemistry.
Two weeks after, the result came out suggesting stage 3 Diffuse Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma but a 2nd biopsy should be done for confirmation because the previous biopsy was not properly done & the slide could not be read properly on Immunohistochemistry.
It was at this stage that my family lost hope in UNTH & started considering oversea for proper treatment. Meanwhile, my Bar Exam was drawing closer, I was under prepared for the exam.
It was at this stage that everybody started advicing me to quit Law School & face my health. I refused to listen to everyone, even though I knew I was under prepared & could fail d exam but I didn't want to give up on something I had started. I told myself I'm not quitting.
I returned to Abuja & resumed treatment with Nat. Hospital . At a point, I boycotted treatment coz it was clashing with revision classes. My mind was on Bar Exam though I wasn't mentally fit for the exam due to my health but I took it upon myself that I would write & pass d exam.
Luckily, Law Sch brought the exam forward & I wrote the exam with a swollen leg not knowing that the suggestion that the lump on my inguinal region was malignant was actually correct.
Immediately after Bar Exam, I traveled to Apollo International Hospitals Ahmedabad for proper treatment. On arriving India, I did biopsy, Doppler scan, Immunohistochemistry & Pet-Scan & the results confirmed it was a STAGE-4 Diffuse Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Dr. told me that there are three ways of treating the disease & he would start with the most conventional method of treating Cancer which is Chemotherapy & if Chemo doesn't work he would switch to Radiotherapy & if Radiation doesn't work on me cuz of the stage,
I would have no other option than Stem Cell Transplant & it would cost nothin less than $40k. At this point, I thought my world was coming to an end cuz we only came to India with $7k. I cried all night. A stage 4 Lymphoma that had spread to my left kidney & some parts of my body
I started Chemotherapy the next day praying that my body should respond to treatment because we had no money for neither radiation nor Stem cell.
God in his infinite mercy, proved again to be the father of impossibilities.
After the 2nd cycle of Chemo, my leg became normal, the lump on my inguinal region was no longer visible & after the 4th cycle, I went for a 2nd Pet-Scan which revealed that everything was gone. It was a miracle coz even the doctor was surprised.
At this point, the chemo was reduced from 8 to 6 cycle. God healed me.
Again, another miracle happened. I came back to Nigeria on the 9th of December & my Call to Bar was on the 12th December. I hadn't done screening because I wasn't around during d period but God interceded.
Before I came back I had given up on CAll to Bar. I told myself it wasn't gonna be possible, let me just come & celebrate with others. When I came back, I informed my mentor that I was back & few minutes after I got a call from her telling me to come & do screening on Monday.
I did my Call to Bar screening on the eve of Call to Bar & got called the next day to the Nigerian Bar as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
PS: BAR EXAM was brought forward so that I could write the exam & go for treatment.
CALL TO BAR was postponed from Nov-Dec so that I join my colleagues in the ceremony.
God did these two wonderful things for me.
I give him all the glory.
If I had ten thousand tongues,
It still won't be enough
NARA EKELE MO
Chukwu Na agwom'oria le ,
When you heal, You heal completely,
NARA EKELE MO
What shall I render to Jehovah?
For he has done so very much for me.
When my back was against the wall
And it looked as if it was over
You made a way.
And I'm standing here,
Only because you made a way.
I want to encourage someone never to give up on any difficult situation you may find yourself in. Just have faith in God & believe that the difficult situation will someday pass away.

I'M A LIVING TESTIMONY.
