Would be weird that an art student would talk about this but here goes.

1. It is unprecedented that a YPDA Agong would resign. While provisions has made for such a situation, more often that not, either their 5 years ends or they pass away whist in office.

2. With the seat vacant, it is now up the Conference of Rulers (comprised of the rulers of all the Malay royal states) to meet and elect (Yes, elect) the next YPDA.

Normally, they elect the next in line on the order of seniority that was formed in 1957.

3. The issue with this, is that the Sultan of Pahang is next in line. His old age may result in him decline the Malaysian throne which could mean the second in line getting elected instead.

4. The second in line? the Sultan of Johor. Yeah, him.

5. Anybody that knows Malaysian history and the Johor Royal Family's history would know this could spell trouble.

6. Some rumours came that the third in line, the Sultan of Perak and the acting YPDA during 2 month Medical leave of the resigning YPDA should be elected instead.

That would itself is unprecedented and unless agreed upon the Sultan of Johor, will be a huge insult to the state.

7. Of course, if all goes well, the Sultan of Johore would ascend the Malaysian throne and would 16th YDPA.

That it would mean the crown prince of Johor, Tunku Ismail would be regent might be bad news for the state government tho...

8. For those on the blur, YDPA refers the full title for the supreme King of Malaysia, Yang Di-Pertuan Agong meaning 'He Who Is Made Lord'.

The public usually just calls him Agong for simplicity sake.
