This is a minor gripe but the wild thing abt the tortured pseudoscience re: supposedly innate Black athleticism — and all its implications that Negroes are beast-like — is how poorly it holds together if you actually just watch sports.
To hear sports eugenicists tell it, Paul George and Zach Randolph, being Black and 6-9 (ish), are both working with the same physical tools. No grappling with culture, even in the sport itself, where one set of attributes might quickly shift from being prized to a liability.
There are a bunch of athletic abilities that would presumably translate between skill positions in football and those in baseball. So why is the NFL 70% Black but there are so few Black players in the majors?

It’s almost like culture and society and economies matter!
When basketball was dominated by Jews in its first decades, people explained that away with racist pseudoscience, too: it was a game for “crafty” people and “smart alecks” with “devious minds.”
The demographics and cultures and economies of cities strangely didn't figure (then or now) into how people understood the demographics of the city game.

Go figure.
