Thread: Unsealed Documents Epstein
"Not that I can remember" pg 26

I am not personally religious, but I have great respect for most who are. I believe that, like with any other set of beliefs, how your religion manifests in your treatment of others is what's important. Does it call you to service others? Help your neighbors? Bring you peace?
I honestly don’t care what you believe. I care about how your beliefs impact others. I care if you see me as less than for not believing. I care if you try to push/force your beliefs on me and my rights. I care if your beliefs cause blind hate for those not like you.
I love people who are devoutly just about everything. I respect their beliefs and will respect traditions especially if I am in their spaces of worship. I do not believe that any religion is better or worse than others.

As a former “hustla”, I have to give Kardashians props. They have literally hustled the entire world. They have become worldwide celebrities and amounted tremendous wealth based upon nothing more than physical appearances... that are the result of cosmetic surgery. #blacktwitter
The Kardashians prove the greatest weakness in global society is vanity. Anyone who desires wealth & celebrity can achieve it if they master how to appeal to the world’s vanity. This goes for preachers too. Prosperity preachers are “successful” cuz they wed spirituality & vanity.
Watching this Red Table Talk with Jada & Jordyn Woods. The way folks have come at this sista & her family just on the word of media and Kardashians speaks volumes regarding the lure of vanity & the power of those who wield it for their own elevation. #BlackTwitter

On January 8th 2018 @realDonaldTrump signed H.R. 1242 into law ( now referred to as Public Law 115-102 )

He is NOT the originator of this bill, he signed it because that is the job of any sitting president.
The purpose of H.R. 1242 was to create the 400 Years of African American History Commission. All of the following individuals were suggested by congress and appointed by the Department of the @Interior

do you know about elaine phillips?

people from #Louisiana, #Mississippi, #Tennessee, #Alabama & #Missouri might know

just so you know elaine phillips was not a:
woman
man
human

elaine phillips was an horrific event which happened in #Arkansas
2019 - marks 100th anniversary of one of the deadliest US massacres, claiming 200+ black lives

black sharecroppers worked in fields w/o fair share of profits

blacks were the majority population but control of cotton was dominated by whites, who low-balled wholesale prices
#civiljustice
#racism

whites also enacted a system designed to keep blacks in debt to keep control of the community
(familiar)?

so, black farmers gathered at church to unionize

white security guards circled building, shots were fired & a white security officer was killed

Black folks only. Seriously, I only want to talk to black ppl on this: What is going on with #ShaunKing? Why would anyone with his influence & power go after other black cultural workers asking for his accountability like he’s doing? Something doesn’t smell right here to me
I get that no one wants to feel accused. I get it’s hard to be in the spotlight. But he knows what tagging & screenshotting folks like this will do. One is a black queer woman college student apparently? Anyone who uses their power in this way is suspect to me. #ISupportClarissa
To be clear this isn’t a quick smart @rgay style troll smackdowm, this is a public mini meltdown/tirade targeting other black activists...I just...What in the hell? Remember yall, I’m talking to #BlackTwitter here.

So I’m watching this #FyreFraud. Partly to make some points about why I never got into influencer marketing in my marketing career.
Nothing to lose at this point.

I could have been one of the influencer stars. Early on.
Instead I wrote an article about how what is measured as influence is really popularity. And would lead to things like #DumpsterFyre.

1/ Today, a day before the mid-terms, I'm thinking of my grandmother. As a young boy, one of my most vivid memories was attending my grandmother's funeral, standing between my mother and father.
2/ More people than I had ever seen in church or anywhere else other than a parade attended, white and black, SRO, overflow, watching through windows. I could not believe that so many ppl loved my grandmother as I did.
3/ I don't know how religious my grandmother was, but she had married into a church-founding family for the African Methodist Episcopals. Sundays were special days, but unlike children in similar situations, I was not made to sit in church all day.

It’s been my experience that they send infrequent messages and event reminders only, you won’t get a bunch of spam. Let’s meet up #BlackTwitter and #resist Twitter.

The listening tour that @jack has been on as CEO of Twitter found its way to me this week. I recorded my one hour conversation with him on my iPhone 5. Then @Recode made a podcast out of it, with transcript. recode.net/2018/9/14/1785… 1/2
Among the things I talked about with @jack: an edit feature; a "live now" button you could turn on and off that would say, I'm on and reachable; what he heard from conservatives when he met with them; his view that Twitter should be an "impartial" platform— but not "neutral." 2/2
Ideas I suggested to @jack: Twitter needs public editors plural; tech companies pride themselves on being innovative but in their public communications it's the same old PR; I don't know how to alert @Twitter to a problem its people should look at. (He said tweet about it.) 3/3

The Alex Jones news really has me conflicted. The last time I left Twitter it was because of abuse from people like that.

Twitter has no reason to change if we stay. But then the harassers get what they want if we go.
I have helped build communities here. I was one of the first #BlackTwitter people here. I couldn't find any other black people here at first.
Haven't decided what to do. But if anyone wants to chat about what a proper response to this is, we can chat on GroupMe, Signal, Slack etc. Let me know.

So, let me do a bit of story time on @KanyeWest, since he thinks he's out of The Sunken Place. And I can't thank @JordanPeele enough for his metaphor.
*stirs tea in teacup*.
I have a confession. The only reason why I am not mad at @KanyeWest right now is because I have held a petty grudge against him for many years because he had a mother with a Ph.D. who taught Literature at Chicago State University, yet he named his first album, "College Dropout."
I did not mean to hold the grudge that long; but it just continued because of everything I would feel every single time I saw that album and thought about not only his Mother but everything at Chicago State University, home of the Gwendolyn Brooks Black Writer's Conference.

In the fall of 1895 Atlanta put on one in a series of “International Expositions” designed to highlight its progress in recovering from the war. Racial tensions had been growing since southerners, at the end of Reconstruction, began instituting Jim Crow laws.
The organizers of the Exposition invited prominent black leader Booker T. Washington to give a keynote address. The position he took in that speech was a calculated gamble.

Early Signs of Trouble - A History of #WhiteSupremacy at First Baptist Church (Dallas).

How a #Dallas church with a history of oppposing civil rights for African Americans formed a long and toxic relationship with the Republican Party. #maga #blackconservatives #BlackTwitter
“In 1956, the Supreme Court had recently struck down school segregation in the Brown v. Board of Education case. President Eisenhower had sponsored sweeping civil rights legislation.”
Dr. King was organizing bus boycotts. Pressure was building against segregation across the South. At that time, there may have been no more influential figure in the Southern Baptist Convention than W.A. Criswell, the pastor of the enormous First Baptist Church in Dallas.
