Of the Boston public high school valedictorians the @BostonGlobe tracked down, more became homeless than became doctors (the career 1/4 of them had said they aspired to).

(Quick correction: As @sarahbrodsky caught, it's actually 40% earn less than $50K a year, not more. Not too much of a difference, though — I can assure you you don't see those numbers in the richer/whiter suburbs.)
