Since @AOC talked about bias in AI and there's a whole lot of back and forth about it. Now seems as good a time as any to announce our call for papers for the first workshop on fairness accountability transparency and ethics in computer vision at CVPR 2019 sites.google.com/corp/view/fate…
The workshop will be held on June 16th or 17th (dates and rooms are not announced yet). Its time that we start having these workshops at our computer vision conferences and make sure our community understands the repercussions some of them are having on society.
From law enforcement to ICE to a whole host of issues in many other countries, these systems are no longer research exercises. We plan to have speakers from disciplines ranging from law to philosophy in addition to computer vision researchers and practitioners.
We encourage interdisciplinary work, position papers, surveys and other discussions addressing issues that we should consider while conducting and publishing computer vision research. Please see the website for more details. Some broadly defined topics are outlined there.

You might say, but Timnit, the website is very basic. Yes. Ain't nobody got time for creating a fancy website right now and this gets the point across :)
