I run into young people a lot who don’t know who Strom Thurmond was.
They should know.

He had a black daughter he didn’t acknowledge publicly.
He set a record for filibustering civil rights.

On Senate floor Mitch McConnell rips a federal holiday for Election Day as part of a “power grab” by Democrats to win elections.
McConnell said Democrats want “generous new benefits for federal bureaucrats and government employees” including Election Day holiday and up to six days of paid leave “for any federal bureaucrat who decides they’d like to hang out at the polls during an election.”
McConnell thinks those federal workers would use their time off to work to elect Democrats.
He also ripped federal matching funds for candidates, etc. in HR 1, which he calls “The Democratic Politician Protection Act”

Wait 'til somebody tells Schultz what the top income tax rate was under FDR.
FDR actually proposed a 100% tax rate during WWII!
FDR: "no American citizen ought to have a net income, after he has paid his taxes, of more than $25,000 a year."
Congress enacted a *94%* top rate.
AOC's 70% top rate would have made her a flaming moderate back then.

2⃣ Aside from Revenue(tax) bills, bills can originate either in the House, the Senate or both simultaneously. When the bill has been polished it goes to a vote. There are two primary types of vote & one that is considered a countermeasure. #Senate ⬇️

"I am a citizen of Charlottesville and yesterday was a horrible day for my city. The news outlets have it all wrong.
This whole march was started by the city's vice mayor and the city council. The vice mayor
who is a racist black man ( google Wes Bellamy and read his hate statements towards white people and women) who decided to try to make a name for himself by removing a historical statue of Robert E Lee. He wants to erase history.
After the citizens of Charlottesville voiced
their opinion that the statue should stay Wes Bellamy kept pushing the issue. These are the facts. This has nothing to do with Trump.
Wes Bellamy and the city council brought this mess upon our city. Race relations here have been set back 60 years.
BLM is to the black community

In 1861, Robert E. Lee was one of the Union's top officers.

He was offered command of Union forces by Lincoln -- and rejected it.

He turned traitor to the Union in favor of his state, and led a rebel army that was fighting to make the Confederate States of America permanent.
In 1865, long after being repelled at Gettysburg, and the war ended, Lee signed an Oath of Allegiance to the Union, but he was not given citizenship again -- until the document resurfaced in the 1970s, and President Ford allowed it.
Pres. Ford: "Gen. Lee's character has been an example to succeeding generations, making the restoration of his citizenship an event in which every American can take pride."

So, he was def. a traitor.

But then he came back when he lost.
