1. Our nation was predicated upon the idea that "all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." When did this endowment take place, if not at our creation?
2. In English common law, according to the great William Blackstone, a child was not only considered to be alive once they stirred in their mothers womb, but to be born as well, a separate person, distinct from the mother.
3. The idea of life beginning when the child stirred within the mother was consistent with the scientific knowledge at that time; the important point is not whether they were right in this regard, but how they viewed the unborn once alive.
4. Founding Father James Wilson, one of the original SCOTUS justices and signator of the Declaration of Independence, taught his law students that the common law protected human life from "it's commencement to it's close."
5. When SCOTUS heard Roe V Wade, they proceeded on the premise that once the child was alive, the state's power to protect the child overrode the woman's sovereignty over her body. The problem was, the court did not know when exactly life began.
6. According to Justice Blackmun, they arbitraily chose the 12th week as the point of viabilty, demarcating when control passed from the woman to the state. The court reasoned that if the child could survive outside the mother, it must be alive at that point.
7. Blackmun stated that this point of viability could be moved up even earlier with the advancement of medical technology and scientific knowledge. Today, there is no reasonable doubt that life begins at conception; the body of scientific evidence is overwhelming.
8. Equiped with this knoweldge, shouldn't the point set in RVW be moved up to the point of conception. The Founders said that government was instituted among men to secure our rights to life; this means that the state not only has the power, but the duty to protect the unborn.
9. When we consider all that the Founding Fathers had to say about the unborn's right to life, and the laws at the time making abortion in various forms illegal, it is only through flagrant dishonesty that one can argue that there is a constitutional right to abortion.
10. It was bad enough when the Left tried to deny the unborn's humanity in order to justify their evil, but now, they openly support infanticide. Why is this? What purpose does it serve? Do they really care about the woman's individual rights? Of course not.
11. The Left rejects the idea of individual rights. Individuals have no value other than their role in the collective. The philosophical father of fascism, Giovanni Gentile, said individual rights were selfish and must give way to serve the interests of the collective.
12. Abortion on demand, for any reason, serves to normalize the idea of sacrificing the individual for the collective good, like the barbaric "one child" law in China.
13. The Anti-Federalist warned that a federal judiciary, unelected by the people and accountable to no one, was in danger of being hijacked by activist judges who would interpret, rather than consult the Constitution, and wrest the republic away from liberty toward tryanny.
14. Through horrendous decisions, SCOTUS has weakened many of our freedoms, removed God from the polity, and granted a constitutional right to abortion. Thank God, @POTUS is appointing justices to SCOTUS and the lower federal courts that will adhere to the Constitution.
