1. What an embarrassment to my beloved state you are. No, nukes would not be in play, and bombing and artillery would be limited for the same reasons. Most of it would be urban warfare against an armed resistence that outnumbers our current military 55 to 1.
2. Compare this to other civil wars, like Syria, where the resistence is much smaller than the military force, fought over a much smaller area. Did the rebels cause problems for the Syrian forces aided by Russia? Was it a short war?
3. And yet, you don't think 110 million armed civilians is much of a deterrent to a millitary force of 2 million, most of whom wouldn't support a tyrannical regime. Are you competing with @NancyPelosi @RepMaxineWaters @RepAdamSchiff and @tedlieu for this year's idiot prize?
4. Guns aren't going anywhere. There are more guns in America than Americans. You can't eliminate criminals from getting guns. Over the last 20 years, guns have have signifacantly increased, while violent crime has dramatically decreased.
5. Moreover, mass shootings, although statistically rare, have increased. All of this would suggest that society, not the availability of guns, is the problem. So what's changed in American society? What are the biggest influences, or megaphones, in society.
6. The 4 largest megaphones are academia, the media, Hollywood, and social media; all of these are predominantly controlled by the Left.
7. The Left has indoctrinated a generation to hate America, reject God, devalue human life, and to expect the government to take care of them; this makes them dependant on the Left, exactly what you corrupt, power-hungry bastards want.
8. The Left encourages violence against any dissenters. They call for people to "bash the fasc," and claim that hate speech (i.e. any speech they dissagree with) is violence, while violence in response to said speech is free speech.
9. The Left views people in terms of group members, not individuals (identity politics). The result is that we have a very divided and violent society, and idiots like you think the best way to keep people safe in an evil and violent world is to disarm them.
10. The only way to ensure that bad guys don't have guns is to eliminate guns from society, which is impossible; there's no putting that genie back in the bottle. But let's imagine that we could make all the guns disappear.
11. Depending on your source, guns are used by civilians to defend life between 500K and 3M times per year. If we assume that even 10% of those incidents would have have resulted in death without firearms, than we're looking at 50K to 300K deaths per year, if guns were removed.
12. In comparison, the 16K gun related homicides per year are nothing. Guns are great equalizers. Women use guns to defend themselves against attackers against whom they would be no match, unarmed. As the saying goes, "God created men; Samuel Colt made them equal."
13. If you deny my God-given right to defend myself and my family by the means I determine to be most effective for our situation, we have no common ground. You have every right to be stupid with your own safety; you have no right to force that stupidity on others.
14. The realty is that the Left cares nothing for keeping society safe; they use violence to further their agenda which is to destroy America and make her into something abhorrent to the founders. They know that 110 million armed patriots are a definite obstacle to their agenda.
