Reminder: The vast majority of abortions - about 90% - occur very early in pregnancy. When they do occur later, it is almost always because a woman’s health or life are at risk, or because her pregnancy is no longer viable.
Inflammatory claims like the one America just heard are not only false, they are offensive to people who face pregnancy complications. The people spreading this misinformation have one motive in mind: to ban safe, legal abortion altogether.
Let’s not forget that this president has said he believes women should be punished for having an abortion, and pledged to appoint Supreme Court justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade. So when he talks about reproductive health care - consider the source.
The majority of Americans want abortion to remain safe and legal because they understand that personal decisions about pregnancy are just that - personal - and should be made by pregnant people and their doctors, not politicians.
