Recognizing another individual’s potential before they do is an underrated human skill.
I think about other people’s potential a lot.

It helps me calibrate what’s possible for them and for whatever team they are on.

This mindset helps me see what someone can do in the future and how I can help them get there.

It’s a refreshing way to think about people.
Instead of becoming fixated on what somebody can improve, I look to see what they can become.

Then I align with them on that future possibility and make sure they see it too and want it.

This often happens in a single conversation and it’s different for every person.
Nobody will change because of you.

They will only change because they want to.

A person has to opt-in to what their future potential is. They have to accept it as a possibility.

The best you can possibly do is inspire them to see the best possible future version of themselves.
Everyone has growth potential.

Age, background or even perceived intelligence are only artificial blockers.

We’re all capable of so much more than we personally think we are.

It can often take an outside opinion and perspective to help you see yourself more clearly.
The more you look for potential in others the easier it becomes for you to see your own potential.

In that way we are all mirrors for each other.

We exist in great part to help others see themselves.

Whatever you look for in others, make it empowering and energizing.
