Start by learning how to talk to people that you haven’t met before.

Sales is a learned skill, because it’s all about communication.

@steli and I break down why in this @startupchat podcast episode: thestartupchat.com/ep217/
Early on when you’re learning sales, make sure you are disiciplined and use some form of a CRM. You can start super simple with a Google Sheet.

Here’s a template from @Zapier: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d… and a blog post with instructions: zapier.com/learn/google-s…
Need to know what to say during a sales call? @yesware has created a sales script template in Google Docs here: docs.google.com/document/d/1wQ… with accompanying instructions: yesware.com/blog/sales-cal…
Can’t talk about sales without mentioning @patio11’s advice. Here’s his guide on getting your first 10 customers: stripe.com/atlas/guides/s…
I’m biased because @steli is my co-host on the @startupchat but I find myself recommending the @Closeio blog to anyone trying to level up their sales game: blog.close.io

Make sure you search the archives for *anything* you need related to sales.
One of the toughest things about sales is getting past objections that prospects bring up.

It’s natural to react negatively when you hear an objection so learning how to get past them is key.

Start with this @startupchat episode: thestartupchat.com/ep194/
Once you start selling, you don’t stop.

It doesn’t matter what you do or what you are selling.

Selling is communicating.
Communicating is selling.

We spend the majority of our time selling. We just don’t call it that.

Good luck selling today!
