PSA to the 70% of American Jews, like myself, who consistently vote Democrat:
There will be an onslaught of tactics used against us in the next two years designed specifically to scare us into supporting/voting for the status quo. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!

Excuse the all caps tweet but I can’t stress enough that THE NEXT TWO YEARS ARE GONNA BE FILLED WITH PEOPLE ACTIVELY TRYING TO WEAPONIZE YOUR FEAR OF ANTISEMITISM AND IT’S GONNA SUUUUUUUUUCK!

The GOP will paint dems as antisemitic for even a slight criticism of Israel. Ya know, the same GOP that stood by Trump as he condemned both sides in Charlottesville and ran a campaign fueled by antisemitic tropes and dog whistles.

Centrist dems will tell you that this new crop of dems - ya know, the ones that excite you and make you feel optimistic about our country’s future - are antisemites because they call out AIPAC or display any empathy for Palestinians.

Pundits on corporate media, attempting to be “fair and balanced," will conflate the rise of right wing antisemitism (which led to Charlottesville & Tree Of Life shooting) with the rise of open critics of the Israeli government.

Right wing op-ed columnists and thinkpiece hacks will call people antisemitic based on bad faith readings of tweets. They will use previous bad faith readings of tweets as evidence of a pattern of antisemitism.

Idiots online and on op-ed pages will use “alt-right” and “far left” in the same sentence to get you to associate the two with one another.

Both centrist dems and the GOP will specifically target POC, muslims, and LGBTQ people who talk about Palestine or the Israel lobby, trying to play off of the stereotype that these communities hate Jews moreso than white gentiles.

White liberals and white conservatives will try to stir up fear amongst white Jews by mentioning the name Farrakhan and try to make it seem like antisemitism is rampant in the black community.

White Jewish Zionists will try to convince you that Jewish POC who speak out against the Israeli government are not really Jewish. In general they will use questioning Jewishness as a weapon against any Jew showing solidarity with the Palestinian people.

During the dem primaries, the centrist candidates will try to convince you that dems to the left of them are "the same as Trump” and antisemitic by association with leftist leaders who are involved with Palestinian solidarity.

These are just some of the tactics you will see. I repeat, DO NOT FALL FOR IT!

The right paints criticism of Israel as antisemitism to fool you into believing they are your friends. Centrist dems paint criticism of Israel as antisemitism to stop us from transforming the party.

Centrist democrats and the GOP do not share our values nor our commitment to fighting racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, classism, and antisemitism. Remember, no one is free until we are all free.
