On this day in 2007, SGT Buddy "Doc" Hughie -- 1st Battalion, 180th Infantry, Okla. Army National Guard -- was KIA in Kamdesh attempting to provide medical assistance to an Afghan soldier. His family misses him dearly; have a thought for them if you could.

Friend of mine reminds me the passenger terminal in Kabul is named in his honor.
