“Stamps” haven’t been used in a decade. The EBT card can only be used in an approved point-of-purchase register that is set to automatically exclude purchases other than food. When ppl have to lie to make an argument, it shows how weak their argument is.
“But I’ve seen ppl use SNAP to buy diapers! That’s not food!”

Nope. You haven’t. EBT cards can also contain WIC (for new mothers/infants) and TANF (for families). Those benefits can be used for non-food items, but still not for beer, cigs or lottery tickets.

SNAP is food only.
(I’ll just withhold comment about ppl who get enraged because a person they don’t approve of has money to buy diapers so that their babies don’t live in a puddle of shit and piss.)

Wow. This is interesting. If this is actually Roger Stone’s wife, she just undermined the Trump Crime Family’s central “coffee boy” defense.
Pretty sure she just got herself on a trial witness list. Mueller would love to be handed support for Roger Stone being “instrumental” to Trump’s victory. If it’s true that Stone was the link to Wikileaks and the stolen documents, that pretty much convicts him.

They’re going to call us “socialist” no matter WHAT we do.

When we’re taunted as “socialist,” it means the sociopaths and pathological hoarders are scared.

Put every practical goal on the table. Don’t fear name-calling.
“Will it work?” and “Is it sustainable?” should be our policy evaluation tests, not “will someone find a way to call it socialist?” Free markets are not going to to disappear if we publicly fund child care. Govt isn’t going to take over factory ownership if we fund college.
Remember, these people who use “socialist” as an epithet also think “Democrat” is the worst thing you can be called. They’re not protecting free markets. They’re protecting dynastic hierarchy of hoarded extreme wealth, and a caste system in which they sit at the peak.

Because GOP national culture has sickened to the point that “obeying the law” is considered 1) partisan and 2) something only Democrats care about.
Trump lied bc he believed that his base, donors and handlers wanted him to, and that he would go completely unpunished for it.
(BTW, a criminal can be both knowing, maliciously motivated, and mentally impaired.)

It's super hella problematic. There's a huge beauty/health/fitness industry based on image & guilt instead of actual health. Because lbr- guilt, shame, & race/class-based messaging are VERY EFFECTIVE ways to sell food.

The sustainable/organic industries are HUGELY complicit.

And no, I don't just mean The Corporate Food Giants. I also mean little family farms surfing on guilt waves bc it's just easier to stress people into driving out to your farm for pickup than it is to deal with your own delivery logistics like a real business does.

If someone deletes a Reply to you, there is no record that such a Reply ever existed(*). One could of course make a screenshot (aka screencap) but screenshots can be faked to say whatever you want.

(*) Actually, twitter may retain the Reply, I dunno.
Quote Tweets (QTs) are a different matter. A nested set of QTs, entered in reverse order & punctuated in specific ways, can be made 'secure' in the sense that

1) You can't add to the initial tweet, and
2) You can't add to the final tweet w/o some break in a punctuation protocol.

I did something similar to this 5 years ago, in anticipation of EC & @theroots' Wise Up Ghost LP, on tumblr.

(You can still find all those posts if you look, although a lot of the YouTube links etc are now dead ends. It was 40 Days Of EC then, so for 2018 I'm upping it to 45.)
Mostly I will be going chronologically from the early years right up to the present, but it feels right to start out with Costello's 2002 song, "45."

I have not heard a single person that has said, "Let the poor starve!". That's bunk. But if America is going to spend tax money on food for the poor, we should more carefully regulate what that food money is used to purchase.
Here is a link to the USDA survey of stores at the Point of Sale (POS). There is a comparison of SNAP household purchases versus non-SNAP household purchases. That seems wrong. If I am paying cash I can buy whatever I want. fns-prod.azureedge.net/sites/default/…
