So Antony Fisher... founder of the IEA made his fortune after smuggling 25 turkey eggs into the UK and then getting his 10 year old daughter to hatch them.... he hated modern architecture and simultaneously made a fortune out of battery hens...

This is a massively important piece. It's long and detailed and explains how the opaque IEA is apparently pulling the strings or at the very least exerting undue influence on the ERG.

Most people don't get this stuff. Most people don't understand what the hell is going on ... or what the IEA is... or who the TPA are or who's in the ERG or what the ERG is. It's complex and it's ignored by the media big hitters or only mentioned in passing. There's the pity.

If you've never been subjected to Steven Woolfe's Brexit poem it's never too late. Might be worth having something strong close to hand #BrexitArt
My favourite bit in that is when he says "It's a poem that in many ways I don't want to be read."
Whenever I post this - which is far too often - people tell me they didn't make it to the end of the poem. He ends up back on Scarpa Fell watching the sun setting again...

Reading #Sec377Verdict. This thread will pick up my reading from Page 96 and section on privacy. The first thread upto this point here:
"...within the compartment of privacy, individual autonomy has a significant space. Autonomy is individualistic. It is expressive of self-determination and such self-determination includes sexual orientation and declaration of sexual identity."
"Under the autonomy principle, the individual has sovereignty over his/her body."

Although this section is on privacy, this sentence stands out because of its implications for other areas of civil rights, including future body data rights.

Many tell me that the majority of British people are not against EU citizens and that we are welcome. I used to believe that. Can I still? It’s simple: if this were true, this majority would be with us. Visibly. Noisily. I don’t see nor hear them. 2/
Of course I know that we have amazing friends and champions. Of course I know many of you are. But this is Twitter and we have to recognise its echo chamber problem. Beyond it the situation is dire. I have heard so many stories about apathy I can no longer remember them all. 3/

I often see the origin of GG cited as '80s nerd culture. It was actually the early-mid '00s. For example (NSFW):
That's a pre-YouTube viral video, dated around 2004. It's a perfect example of Xbox Live's infamous player culture. That kid's an adult now.
