1) Ok, so, the New York state budget director Robert Mujica wrote an open letter regarding Amazon's decision to pull out of the deal.

It is possibly the saltiest, spiciest open letter from a state government official I have ever read. governor.ny.gov/news/open-lett…
2) Here's the archive of it in case a twitter outrage mob of AOC fans demands its taken down. archive.is/NV1fa
3) First off, one of the primary groups opposing Amazon? A labor union apparently. "First, some labor unions attempted to exploit Amazon's New York entry. The RWDSU Union was interested in organizing the Whole Foods grocery store workers"
4) "they deployed several 'community based organizations' (which RWDSU funds) to oppose the Amazon transaction as negotiation leverage. It backfired." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
5) "Ironically, much of the visible 'local' opposition, which was happy to appear at press conferences and protest at City Council hearings during work hours, were actual organizers paid by one union: RWDSU. (If you are wondering if that is even legal, probably not)." MY SIDES.
6) "Even more ironic is these same elected officials all signed a letter of support for Amazon at the Long Island City location and in support of the application. They were all for it before Twitter convinced them to be against it." I CANT BREATH.
8) So, next he gets into how there was a local senator in the district where Amazon was going to place their building. The state senator flip-flopped hard, at first supporting, then vigorously opposing the project. THIS is where it gets even more funny.
9) The NY state senate then "even recommended appointing him to a State panel charged with approving the project's financing. Amazon assumed that the hostile appointment doomed the project."
10) "Of course the Governor would never accept a Senate nomination of an opponent to the project and the Governor told that to Amazon directly." So, the governor tries to get people to chill the fuck out, and Amazon goes, ok, so if that asshole isn't going to approve it, who will
11) So Amazon called and asked. "Amazon called the Senate Leader and asked if she would appoint an alternative appointee who would support the project. The Senate would not commit to an alternative appointee supporting Amazon."
12) "No rational company, or person for that matter, would assume the Senate would flip flop from appointing a staunch opponent of the project to appointing a supporter of the project. It defies logic." IT DEFIES LOGIC AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
13) "Furthermore, opposing Amazon was not even good politics, as the politicians have learned since Amazon pulled out. They are like the dog that caught the car. They are now desperately and incredibly trying to explain their actions. They cannot."
14) There is enough salt in this open letter to genocide an entire species of snails.
15) "They are trying to justify their flip-flopping on the issue with false accusations that it was a 'backroom deal.'...Empire State Development supported the numerous local applications... but on the condition that the local elected officials and community supported it."
16) Its like a talking point shooting gallery. I love it.
17) So, local officials officially signed on at first, then "Both Gianaris and Van Bramer flip-flopped on this position after Long Island City was chosen, distorting the facts of the agreement and mischaracterizing the tax subsidies as 'a cash giveaway.'"
18) Oh fuck. Now it gets even better. "Local senators' claims that their phone calls were not returned are particularly offensive, given that the local senator was the first person ESD President and CEO Howard Zemsky met with when we made the HQ2 announcement."
19) So the local politicians are lying that they were shut out? "he refused to sit on the community engagement board or even meet with Amazon representatives. Efforts were made to address legitimate concerns, all of which were ignored." Yeah, the local politicians are lying.
20) "The polls showing seventy percent of New Yorkers supported Amazon provided false comfort that the political process would act responsibly and on behalf of all of their constituents, not just the vocal minority." That moment when Dems realize vocal minorities are a bad thing
21) "We underestimated the effect of the opposition's distortions and overestimated the intelligence and integrity of local elected officials." They underestimated how much the opposition would lie and assumed the local politicians weren't spineless idiots 🤣🤣🤣🤣
22) "Incredibly, I have heard city and state elected officials who were opponents of the project claim that Amazon was getting $3 billion in government subsidies.... This is either a blatant untruth or fundamental ignorance of basic math by a group of elected officials."
23) AOC's basically being directly called out there, and that is fucking fantastic.
24) "You don't need to be the State's Budget Director to know that a nine to one return on your investment is a winner." But apparently you do need to have more intelligence than your average state-level politician.
25) "The seventy percent of New Yorkers who supported Amazon and now vent their anger also bear responsibility and must learn that the silent majority should not be silent because they can lose to the vocal minority and self-interested politicians." Now I'm going to take issue.
26) Its called getting shouted down by the vocal minority, dumbass, and how that vocal minority used the same abusive tactics the left ALWAYS USES to win debates. You don't like it? Then tell your fuckboy of a governor to stop endorsing those same tactics.
27) "Progressive politics and policies have been the signature of Governor Cuomo's administration. No state in the nation has more progressive accomplishments" HMMMM. YOU THINK MAYBE THAT WAS PART OF YOUR FUCKING ISSUE, GIVING OUTSIZED REPRESENTATION AND SUPPORT TO PROGRESSIVES?
28) "We are proud that our values create a stronger, healthier, fairer work environment, but we shouldn't kid ourselves about how they impact our competitiveness when businesses consider where to locate." Can I do the clap hands? Am I allowed to?
29) "We are also proud of the unprecedented investments we make in education, healthcare, infrastructure and housing, but in order to fund them, we need a sustained tax base." 👏THESE 👏 ARE 👏 INCOMPATIBLE 👏 GOALS 👏 YOU 👏 DIPSHIT. 👏 Just like conservatives have been saying!
30) You cannot be the most progressive fucking state in the union and then bitch about how your politics are so vehemently fucking TOXIC that no company in their right mind would move to a state where a fucking Twitter mob and rabid unions will buttfuck them at a moments notice
31) "As the political debate rages in this country, the Governor reminds us of the fact that 'to be a progressive, there must be progress.'" Then why is progressive behavior so inherently regressive?
32) "The creation of opportunity and jobs is the engine that pulls the train and, as he also often says, 'the best social program is still a job.'" Tell that to everyone who became unemployed from the $15 minimum wage.
33) See, In part, I'm laughing. I'm laughing at the salt and rage expressed by this letter.

However, I'm also annoyed, because here is this motherfucker wanting to talk about how progressive his state is in one hand...
34) While on the other, he's bitching about the vocal minorities and outrage mobs THAT THEMSELVES DRIVE PROGRESSIVE POLITICS. This is the culture the New York governor helped create! These are the very tactics used to push progressive politics!
35) He talks about how job creation is necessary for all these social programs that rely on a large tax base, then bitches about how many jobs are lost because of the same people who demanded all these social programs be put in place!
36) Its like New York shot itself in the foot, was surprised it had a limp, and then shot itself in the other foot and is now surprised it can't walk, then blames the fact that it's using organic bullets bought out of a trans-owned co-op.

MAYBE STOP SHOOTING YOURSELF IN THE FOOT
Fucking idiocy. /end
