/ I don't do #FBRParty and I have to mute several accounts that spend most of their time doing outrage posting, funny posting... zero content. Being "stronger together", mathematically, does NOT mean following each other but being connected through hub-accounts.
/ Hub-accounts create and reproduce the most relevant content for *your* interests. Following political parties, important activist organizations, news outlets and serious writers is extremely relevant. Doing this means you have a chance of making a contribution.
/ Increasing your individual number of followers if you are not a person who generates relevant content means very close to zero in political terms. I have no idea why anyone would want to have a lot of followers (unless it's business and if it is, we're talking serious numbers
/ Lot's of folks out there doing this uber follow-back thing. I wonder how many realize this has no political impact. If you have a hundred folks that you have a solid conversation and will viralize something important you found, that's plenty.
/ Folks who unfollow you after following you because you didn't follow back don't make sense to me. First, I never committed to this nonsense. Second, that means you never read my content and you are not interested in my original writing. Why did you follow me, then?
/ All the technical information we have on social media impact points to working the network, keeping up with the hubs and doing exactly the opposite of what you are doing (following content-poor accounts) because your feed will be polluted and you will fail to react fast.
/ The reality is that now we are having to mute (so as not to be rude) or unfollow several accounts to optimize the chance of the relevant ones to post in higher TIMELINE DENSITY. Food for thought.
