I’m interested in how we all learn more together, how we work to build relationships that matter, how we learn to understand the particular hatreds and traumas and attacks that can look really different, but are often coming from the same people.

And I know that none of this i s helped by soundbites, clickbait headlines, or demands to denounce.

I can’t imagine what it’s like to spend your teen years in a refugee camp...

...and then come to the US, where a black woman wearing a headscarf is a target for violence & hatred, and be expected to demonstrate a level of cultural understanding & excellent communication that is *never* demanded of wh:te Christian men.

This stuff is hard, friends. But it’s not going to get easier if we’re not learning from each other, approaching hard things with curiosity and humility, and building together.
