For all the people clinging desperately this last straw, Barr's letter flatly states: "The report does not recommend any further indictments, **nor did the Special Counsel obtain any sealed indictments that have yet to be made public**."nytimes.com/interactive/20…
Also, to kill off one last point: Mueller didn't refrain from indicting Trump because you can't indict a President but because “the evidence does not establish the President was involved in an underlying crime related to Russian election interference." nytimes.com/interactive/20…
OK, now I see the saddest of all last hopes: Barr is a Trump appointee distorting and lying about Mueller's findings. You think Robert Mueller & his team - whom you've spent 20 months venerating as the Beacon of Integrity & Patriotism - would sit quietly by if that happened???
Last-gasp theories of this sort are exactly the kind of totally irrational, completely speculative, inane and unhinged conspiracy theorizing that caused us to drown in this pointless, toxic and quite dangerous melodrama for the last 20 months.

Kudos to @brianstelter for posting this truly spectacular @mtaibbi article on the horrific debacle of media behavior for 2+ years on Russia/Trump, including (but definitely not limited to) Brian's CNN colleagues. All journalists should grapple with the points in Taibbi's article:
Like Taibbi & others, I was banned for 2 years from MSNBC & CNN - after years of invitations - for questioning & expressing skepticism about their now-discredited tale. There's probably no plaque for that, but I'll always regard it as one of my proudest journalistic achievements.
Everyone is, of course, free to spend their day(s) on social media insisting the evidence is so clear & overwhelming that Trump family members & officials conspired with Russia to influence the election. The question they have to confront is: why did Mueller not indict them then?

"This was never about having Mueller arrest & prosecute Trump, Jr., Jared, & other Trump aides for election-conspiring with Russia, treason or related crimes." Just stop. That's exactly what you made it about for 2 years. Denying this compounds, not erases, the embarrassment.
One last time (I promise!): the Mueller report, **no matter what it says**, cannot and will not change the key fact: Mueller has freely & voluntarily ended his investigation without indicting even one American for conspiring with Russia over the 2016 election.
It's true "collusion" is not a legal term. But "conspiracy" is a legal term. There are many in prison for it. "Perjury" & "obstruction" are also legal terms. And if Trump, Jr., Jared or others "conspired" with the Russians on the hacks, Mueller had full power to indict them.

Mueller never brought any indictments for “conspiracy to defraud the United States.” (He didn’t, because he never thought he had the evidence to do it.) 3/17

The Special Counsel issued more than 2,800 subpoenas, executed nearly 500 search warrants, obtained more than 230 orders for comms records, issued almost 50
orders authorizing use of pen registers, made 13 requests to foreign govs for evidence, &
interviewed approx 500 witnesses.
Think about that a minute 50 damn Pen Registers (DNR). That's a lot. On phones alone that enables them to gather Dialed # Received # The time the call was made & Whether the call was answered, or went to voice-mail. The length of each call. Content of SMS text messages.
Post-cut-through dialed digits (digits you dial after your call is connected, like your banking personal identification number (PIN) or your prescription refill numbers). The real-time location of your cell phone to within 10 ft +/-.
