Evito trazer a público questões internas partidárias. Mas a verdade precisa prevalecer. Explico aqui👇🏼🧵[1/...]

1/This was one of the most successful #natsec #whistleblower cases in history. We had three primary objectives: (1) ensure client lawfully released classified information to appropriate oversight authorities; (2) protect client's anonymity & (3) protect client from retaliation.
2/We succeeded with all three objectives.

You will notice what was NOT our objective, and that was the #impeachment of President Trump, which was a natural and political outgrowth of achieving objective #1.
3/The representation was a perilous one. We received death threats and hostility, including from the President himself (who publicly declared I "should be sued for treason"). One individual was prosecuted for threatening my life and he will be sentenced later this month.

No way to remove a Republican president from office, anyway. It hasn't been tested but seems to me likely 17 Democratic Senators would have voted to remove a Democratic president who had tried to murder them.

But for a Republican president there exists no crime great enough.
Take it to the greatest extreme you could imagine.

"If Trump dropped a nuclear weapon and vaporized an American city, most Republican Senators would vote to exonerate—even Senators from the state in which that city had been incorporated."

That seems right. I'd buy that.
I mean this isn't a worse argument than those we got from Republicans after the insurrection.

As I listened to the #impeachment charges be read in the US Senate

I was enraged

There has never been a more pro American President than President Trump

The majority of Congress are globalists & don’t put us 1st

There was one person that fought 4 the ppl & put #AmericaFirst
There is not one member of Congress that has pledged their live, their fortune and sacred honor.

President Trump made more of a sacrifice than any of them

Prove me wrong
This sham impeachment was bullshit and we will not forget this day.

You will pay at the ballot box.

What an indictment of the craven shits aka the Republicans.

#impeachment
After all his fascist fuckery, after his incitement to violence and insurrection, after all of that, the Senate still acquitted Trump.

It is an indictment of the way the U.S. puts on trial fascism. It has acquitted fascism. They have given it a green light. Fuck fascism.
The very people who could've been killed by the insurrectionists incited by Trump acquitted
Trump.

Spineless, cowardly, craven shits. Fuck fascism and its enablers and its accomplices. #impeachment

1/9 Impeachment fun fact: sitting Congressman #AlceeHastings, participating in current #impeachment, was himself impeached. He was fed judge convicted on 8 articles related to bribery/lying under oath. 4-years later, he was in #Congress. Following is from Senate.gov:
2/9 “In 1981, a fed grand jury indicted Judge Hastings along with his friend William Borders, a D.C. lawyer. Hastings was charged with conspiracy/obstruction of justice for soliciting a $150,000 bribe in return for reducing the sentences of two mob-connected felons.” #corruption
3/9 “A year after Borders was convicted, the result of an FBI sting, Hastings's case came before the criminal court. Despite Borders’ conviction, and the fact that Hastings had indeed reduced the sentences of the two felons, he was acquitted...and returned to his judicial post.”

As a recovering addict, I can attest to the prevalence of deception in the life of addiction.

So please.

Believe me when I say I’m rather familiar with the tactics used by this defense in the #Impeachment trial.

And they’re not even using them very effectively.

1/7
1. “C’mon. Nobody would do that. You can’t actually believe I did that.”

2. “But I have an alibi. Just ask the people I was with at the time. They’ll vouch for me.

3. “You’ve always had it against me. And you’re no saint either.”

4. “I can’t believe you’d think that.”

2/7
5. “Here’s how weak your argument is. Here’s how strong mine is. You expect anyone reasonable to believe you?”

6. BIG WORDS. LOTS OF WORDS. GET LOST IN ALL THE WORDS. Literally. Overwhelm them with words to the point that they concede out of sheer desperation to escape.

🚨BREAKING: Fulton County #Georgia DA Fani Willis is probing @LindseyGrahamSC’s phone call with @GaSecofState Raffensperger as part of a CRIMINAL investigation into Trump’s alleged CRIMINAL attempt to flip the election results.

washingtonpost.com/politics/linds…
🔥During their conversation, Graham asked @GaSecofState whether he had the power to toss out all #MailInBallots in certain counties, Raffensperger told @washingtonpost. He said Graham asked him to improperly find a way to set aside legally cast ballots.

That’s a #felony.🤬
‼️Graham is sitting in judgment on Trump on a charge that cites Trump’s call to Raffensperger, while Graham HIMSELF is a person of interest in a CRIMINAL investigation of his own call to Raffensperger.

Graham must RECUSE.🤬

Congressman @ericswalwell used @KylieJaneKremer’s tweets as evidence during the #impeachmenttrial trial & accused @america1stwomen of inciting violence.

This is outrageous for a couple of reasons...

#impeachment
1️⃣ @america1stwomen has hosted rallies & visits 2 Capitol Hill & SCOTUS numerous times & we’ve NEVER had any incident involving violence

We did 2 #marchfortrump cross country bus tours & NEVER had any incident

That’s not who we are or what we are about

#impeachment
2️⃣ It’s outrageous that @RepSwalwell would go after & attack a US citizen on the floor of the Senate & @KylieJaneKremer can’t defend herself

#Swalwell is inciting hate & violence against a US citizen. This is NOT okay

Simple question for the #Impeachment defense: what do you think Trump's purpose was in calling his followers to DC and rallying them on 1/6?

What kind of speech occasion do you think 1/6 was, exactly? The election was over, it wasn't a campaign rally.
It wasn't a victory speech. Nor was it a concession speech.

It wasn't an epideictic speech, a communal celebration speech.

It wasn't a deliberative speech, advocating a policy.

It wasn't a forensic speech, seeking to find out the truth about an accusation.
No, it was none of these kinds of speech occasions. If we compare the speech to others of it's kind, we'll see that it most closely resembled a war speech. It was a battlefield speech, a call to arms.

Last month, the @HouseDemocrats impeached Donald John #Trump. When they did so, they adopted a resolution proclaiming that their impeachment was done in the name of the #HouseofRepresentatives and in the name of, and for, the United States of America.
That formula, explaining that the House impeached someone and did so in the name of the House and in the name of the United States, is common. Yet the assertion is troubling.

Half or more of the country disapproves of the House’s impeachment, and of the Senate’s trial.
But politicians will still claim they are doing it for us.

They aren’t.

And it is particularly urgent that we repudiate the idea that the House’s 2021 #impeachment of #DonaldTrump was in our name.

If you have a Republican Senator I hope you are calling them every day with your opinion on the #impeachment YOUR VOICE MATTERS
Let me clarify: ESPECIALLY if you have a Republican Senator: CALL. it doesn’t matter what you think they will do. What matters is using your voice. That’s what democracy is. If you don’t think your voice counts, we are really lost.
What they care about is public opinion. So use your voice.
