And the live stream is up. #SnyderCon
Yes, those are 8 chairs.
The panelists are....

Zack Snyder
Damon Caro (Stunt Coordinator2nd Unit Director)
Larry Fong (Cinematographer)
Sound Editor - anyone catch who this is?
Richard Cetrone (Batman Stunt Double)
Editor - also missed name.
Zack says the Ultimate Cut existed before the theatrical cut. "So this is the movie."
Damen Caro says stunts and VFX have been at odds for a few years, but the warehouse scene they tried to do everything in camera except for some cape effects and blood.
He also told me in September that the first shot of Batman is CGI, check out the interview screenrant.com/batman-v-super…
Zack jokes about the door closing sound effects he likes to use. He always uses "safe door" for everything.

"But Zack, that's just a guy closing his lighter."

"I don't care, use the safe door."
Someone (I think Rich?) said nobody in the industry is as good to work with as Zack. "Hands down."
Zack jokes that he gets really active on set and the actors aren't always as interested in being as physical as he is. He says he'll often do a take to demonstrate then say "do it as good as I did."
Rich just told the story Gerard Butler told recently about Zack throwing a spear.
Damen Caro said if the directing thing didn't work out Zack could have had a great career as a stunt man.
Editor praises Zack's system of storyboarding. He says normal directors you get a script and dailies, but with Zack you always have a script, dailies, AND a storyboard concepting everything.
Editor is David Brenner.
Brenner says the first cut was 4 hours.
Zack says he tells people to refer to his drawings, not the script. "Dialogue is important" but he wants people to look at the drawings over the script for scene/setting/blocking descriptions.
The VFX and stunt teams take the boards and make stunt-viz and pre-viz to match against for live-action. Brenner says it's a system better than any director he's ever worked with because there's a visual reference for everything that happens.
Time for audience questions.
Debbie is in the audience. She says they've gotten together a big group of peole that work on all their stuff and says it's like "a traveling circus."

Zack says he always tries to get everyone to live in the same house when they travel. Debbie isn't a fan.
"We should all live in motorhomes by the stage, then we can WORK ALL THE TIME!"
Zack is asked about the Martha scene. How it came to be and how they felt about the audience response.

"We reached that point in our discussions. We knew how to get them to fight, but how do we get them to sto fighting? We knew we had to get Batman to recognize his humanity 1/2
"Superman in many ways is more human that Batman, he's really embraced that."

Chris Terrio is the one that pointed out that their mothers have the same name. "Look, it's a mythelogical construct, I have no problem with that part of it."
He's asked abotut the movie's political relevance. The Superman protestors, Batman's rhetoric, etc.
Zack: "This whole idea of treating Superman as an immegrant or this alien.... that really informed a lot of how we thought about it."
Who is your favorite Spider-Man and Spider-Man movie?

Zack says Spider-Man 2. And probably Toby. "But it's hard because there's been a lot of great Spider-Men"
Asked about bogus rumors.

"It's hard because I talk about those things with Debbie. 'Hey so I saw this thing and they think Jena Malone is Barbara Gordon...; When people are mad I don't care because they'll find out eventually. When they're hyped and it's wrong it's harder."
"It's hard when it's stuff you said. Like I'll say 'I like Toby Maguire' and then they're like 'HE HATES TOBEY MAGUIRE!'"
Zack doesn't know about Steppenwolf in Suicide Squad. Snyder and Ayer worked together to get Batman and Flash in Suicide Squad, but they wanted to keep them mostly separate.
Patty was awesome. Patty ahd to take my photo and work it into my movie. We had a placeholder photo for a long time that didn't make it in. Even before we had a script, we didn't know when that story was going to happen or how it was going to happen."
"We had another photo of her in an ancient war with ancient soldiers that didn't get used."
"When this movie came out, understand that Chris Terrio and I had finished the script to Justice League before BvS came out. Some people didn't like the movie. A vocal minority. So they said 'there's a lot of stuff we don't want you to do' so we did a rewrite from that script. 1/
So the original Justice League script, we didn't even shoot. The really scary version. Because we were really nervous after the response.
The truth is that the Knightmare sequence in this movie is always something that I intended to explain and we end up in an future Earth where Superman has succumbed to the Anti-Life equation and there's a few surviving members of the Justice League, and a broken Cyborg was 1/
working with Batman to send Flash back to warn Bruce. There was a scene in the trailer, apparently it didn't make it into the movie, where Bruce says Flash came to him and warned him that "Lois was the key" and something darker was coming."
They worked out a complex (and nonsenical) time travel formula. But the Earth has to be in the right position when Flash jumps or he'll jump back in time into space.
And Cyborg asked when Batman wante to send Flash back between 2 windows. Batman said "Which one would you send him in if youi didn't ask me?" and then tells Cyborg to do the opposite. Darkseid was supposed to boom tube into the Batcave and murder Lois!?!?
Annnnd. That's the panel. Haha.

This was a joke. He laughed, the audience was laughing. Move along. Get your dunks elsewhere.
