FBI even redacted dates of some emails between Steele and Ohr in FOIA production to Judicial Watch. judicialwatch.org/wp-content/upl…

Email shown here was on Oct 18, 2016 (reported by Byron York washingtonexaminer.com/news/emails-sh…)
Byron York article reported that Steele lobbied Ohr on behalf of Deripaska on Oct 18 in relation to a dispute with ever-quarrelsome Ukraine.
@themarketswork (and others) have written on Ohr-Steele emails. I haven't reviewed their analyses in making these comments and am just making some points as I notice them.
on Dec 11, 2016, Glenn Simpson sent Nellie Ohr a link to a long article in Thinkprogress thinkprogress.org/nra-and-russia… about Maria Butina. Butina was later arrested on flimsy charges and placed in solitary confinement, more or less a political prisoner.
why did Simpson send this to Nellie Ohr? One has to wonder whether and what role Fusion had in the research and preparation of the article.
Simpson then talked to Bruce Ohr. Byron York notes that call noted in Ohr's log, but topic does not appear to be shown. Butina/NRA or something else?
Here are @themarketswork comments on Ohr emails: themarketswork.com/2018/08/12/the…
Looks to me like JW FOIA documents judicialwatch.org/wp-content/upl… continue later into 2017 than emails available to Byron York and Jeff Carlson in August 2018. Feb 23/17 email from Simpson to Ohr (link to article on Butina) not mentioned by them - but maybe elsewhere?
@mtracey here's something interesting while you're looking at July 2016 articles on Trump-Russia. In July 6/16 email, Nellie Ohr refers Bruce to "penultimate article" This was Franklin Foer's Slate article "Putin's Puppet". slate.com/articles/news_…
another interesting Nellie to Bruce link JW, 327. An article by Brian Whitmore, Oct 2015, on "Fancy Bear"/APT29, even citing Crowdstrike's Alperovitch (who sees a bear under every bed).
Nellie cited another Fancy Bear attribution that I was unaware of: an attack on a German blast furnace by the nefarious Fancy Bear. Wonder if Professor Moriarty was involved? Nellie cited lengthy Bloomberg article on Fancy Bear and Cozy Bear in 2015. archive.is/8iRJ1
here's email from May 5 2016 scheduling meeting between Ohr and UK's Saunders on Jun 5 h/t _mzishi_.

Papadop's claim that this meeting was set up by Arvinder Sambei of LCILP almost certainly a fantasy, as was his claim it was connected to Trump Tower meeting @ProfMJCleveland
in Dec 2015, Nellie emailed Bruce (JW, 295) about Russian article on Browder, snickering at idea that Browder was working for US special services.
Nellie was hired by Fusion from Oct 2015 to end Sep 2016 - "give or take a couple weeks"
Nellie was not very forthcoming when asked about her work at Fusion. "I did a couple of different projects for them".
Rep Jordan tried to elicit details of what Nellie worked on, but she was very non-forthcoming. Her first limited hangout was a non-contentious project on Vlad Models.
then she mentioned a project looking at relationship of Trump with Russian organized crime based on open source research. It seems doubtful that she was working on this in late 2015/early 2016. Why did she skip details?
Jordan didn't notice Nellie's evasion, lost focus and jumped to another line of questioning - about how Nellie got connected with Fusion.
emails from Nellie to Bruce and Lisa Holtyn in Oct 2015 show what Nellie was researching: Russian cyber gangs, in particular, Crowdstrike's Fancy Bear and Cozy Bear.
here is article that Nellie sent. it quoted Crowdstrike's Alperovitch. It also recounted a phishing attempt in 2011 on Clinton's "private" account - an incident that later seems to have been overlooked

on Oct 13, 2015, (just after starting work for Fusion), here's another Nellie email to Bruce linking July 2014 Bloomberg article archive.is/rxrhe on Nasaq hack under email subject line "Kremlin's ties to Russian cyber gangs"
on Oct 19/ 2015, still under subject line "Kremlin's ties to Russian cyber gangs", Nellie sent Bruce and Lisa Holtyn (DOJ) articles on hack of Warsaw stock exchange and German steel mill. Nellie observed that malware in German steel mill attack similar to malware in prior attacks
article cited by Nellie discusses X-Agent, the Fancy Bear malware later reported by Crowdstrike at DNC. The Google report cited here is probably Mehta 2014, Peering into the Aquarium, motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/…
on Oct 29 2015, Nellie sent Bruce an article by Brian Whitmore for US propaganda arm Radio Free Europe, which included quotes from Crowdstrike's Alperovitch (later notorious for role at DNC).
in November 2015, Nellie continued to send articles about Russia to Bruce, but focus was on topical surprise death of Lesin, promoter of RT, under mysterious circumstances in Washington
in Dec 2015, Nellie sent Bruce a set of links and quotes on topical dispute between Browder and Prosecutor Chayka - to whom the sleazy Browder later purports to link Natalya Veselnitskaya
