People are pushing back on Native American "What aboutisms" over the Notre Dame fire. They use sites hindu and buddhist sites bombed by Muslim fundamentalists as evidence that they care about world religions and sacred sites. But we aren't some ancient sect nor an abandoned site.
We're living humans, some who maintain our cultures, languages & spiritualities, some who are entirely assimilated & many more in between. We are under constant attack and our #DefenseAgainstEuropeanHegemony isn't over. Our lands, water, culture & bodies are under constant attack
We're now under attack by Euro-American rivals such as China and India who seek a foothold in the nonbiological and biological bounty of the Americas. We are under attack from the US's allies like Israel. We aren't losing billion dollar churches of which there are many.
We don't have armies or politicians who will help us rebuild our sacred sites, cultures or get our lands back. We are under attack daily by the rest of the world, who we feed & save lives with our sacred medicines. We are under attack in our own bodies w/ Central American slavery
The rest of you, who deride us for not having sympathy for a religion that murdered us, tortured us, brainwashed us and was an important wedge toward taking our lands and destroying our art, science & written word.
Where are you when France and Britain hold the remnants of our lives and cultures in their museums (Mayan and Aztec Codices), skeletons in museums around the world for folks like David Reich to pilfer and exploit?
You have no right to criticize the Native American position on Notre Dame, when now because of All of Us, The VA Million Man genome project and other Omics projects (public and private) seek to make a profit over our essence, our DNA.
You take what you want and then create a sympathetic narrative for your own causes. Rewriting histories like the ogres you are.
