Just went through @RahulGandhi affidavit: he has clearly not ‘apologised’ for his stand on Rafale contrary to initial reports. He has only expressed ‘regret’ to SC for wrongly attributing ‘chowkidar chor hai’ remark to them, where he had no choice! In other words, status quo!
The BJP earlier claimed a ‘clean chit’ on Rafale from SC when there was none; Rahul Gandhi claimed SC had endorsed its ‘chor’ remark when it had not. Election season = fake narratives.
This ‘heat of campaign’ argument used by Mr Gandhi in SC affidavit has been used way too often to carry weight. Yes,election time is ‘hot’ but top politicians across party lines should weigh their words carefully; hope next time it won’t require SC intervention for a corrective
