Congress President Rahul Gandhi files his response before the Supreme Court in Meenakshi Lekhi vs Rahul Gandhi. @RahulGandhi @INCIndia @M_Lekhi #Chowkidar #RafaleDeal
Rahul Gandhi came to know of the order of the Supreme Court [bit.ly/2GzGua4] during late morning of April 10 through Social Media while travelling in Amethi.
"Rahul Gandhi did not have the slightest or remotest intention, desire or even thought process, to bring the court into the political arena or bring it into disrepute or attribute to it deliberately or willfully that which the court had not said or meant" - @RahulGandhi
RG response was based upon the immediate general perception that in the review petition filed in the so-called #RafaleDeal case, this Court had reopened the case for hearing, that the Supreme Court had not allowed the shutting out of new facts and documents as desired by the Govt
RG refers to @PMOIndia @narendramodi interview to @abpnewstv in which PM clearly suggested that the Hon'ble Supreme Court had given him a clean chit in the #RafaleDeal and that the channel was asking him about a "false news" as per the Supreme Court.
"It was in this context that Supreme Court order (April 10) rejecting the challenge of maintainability of review petition of Govt. & deciding to go ahead with hearing the matter was seen generally as vindication of stand of several who opposed the ruling party" @RahulGandhi
Rahul Gandhi had meant to convey that the Judgement of December 14, 2018 (bit.ly/2vhXSJW) was neither final or binding. By directing the #RafaleDeal to be heard on merits, the Supreme Court had found sufficient material to have a relook at the matter @M_Lekhi @INCIndia
On April 10, issues relating to Court proceedings, unfortunately, got juxtaposed and mingled with a political slogan being used extensively by @RahulGandhi and @INCIndia for several months. That slogan is "Chowkidar Chor Hai".
RG would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm his stand & belief & that of his party that Rafale Deal is a tainted transaction & a gross & brazen abuse of executive power & leading example of corruption of the @BJP4India led by @PMOIndia @narendramodi

@RahulGandhi @M_Lekhi
"My statement was made in the heat of political campaigning. It has been used (&misused) by my political opponents to project that I had deliberately and intentionally suggested that this Court had said Chowkidar Chor Hai!" - @RahulGandhi

- Meenakshi Lekhi vs Rahul Gandhi
RG @RahulGandhi lists out multiple statements of BJP leaders (@narendramodi, @AmitShah @SushmaSwaraj, @rajnathsingh, @rsprasad, @arunjaitley )who attributed statements to the Supreme Court after December 14, 2018 order had come where Supreme Court had dismissed Rafale petition
Statement of @RahulGandhi is purely political to counter the misinformation campaign being led by Senior Functionaries of the BJP that order of Dece 14, 2018 was a clean chit to the Govt regarding all aspects of the Rafale deal.
The Contempt petition itself is an abuse of process of this Hon'ble Court in as much as an intention is sought to be imputed to @RahulGandhi. Each and every contention and insinuation of the contempt petition is denied.

@M_Lekhi #Rafale
"Question of willfully intending to prejudice the public against @narendramodi as is strangely suggested by Meenakshi Lekhi does not arise in view of fact that it is the firm belief of RG that @narendramodi is involved in misdemeanours in the Rafale Deal" -@RahulGandhi
@M_Lekhi
"If aforesaid explanation sought by the Hon'ble Court vide order dated 15.04.2019 requires any elaboration or further details, the answering Respondent craves leave and liberty to furnish the same at any time." - @RahulGandhi

-Meenakshi Lekhi vs Rahul Gandhi

@M_Lekhi
"Grateful for the clarification by this Hon'ble Court. He reaffirms the aforestated and elaborated intention with which the said statement were made & undertakes that he will not attribute any views, observations or findings to the Court.." @RahulGandhi
