(1) On July 29, 2016, I arrived at the Armstrong house in SW Hou around 4am. The only thing we knew—there had been a shooting. A woman was dead. Maybe someone else was shot? We waited for police to update us. #abc13 abc13.com/live-closing-a… 
(2) We watched police put a teen boy in a police car. The son of the victims, we heard. His parents—both of them—were shot in their bed while they slept. #abc13
(3) We learned the names of the victims: Dawn & Antonio Armstrong. Respected leaders. Faith-filled people. Loving parents. Beautiful people. #abc13
(4) And that teen in the back of the cop car? AJ Armstrong. Their son. By 11am that morning, AJ was charged with two counts o capital murder. #abc13
(5) AJ was booked into juvi jail. Where he stayed for more than half a year. No bond. We were there for every court appearance. So were AJ’s grandparents. Who have always believed their grandson is innocent. #abc13
(6) AJ was eventually certified to stand trial as an adult. That meant he could bond out of jail. He appeared less in court as his defense team prepared for trial. #abc13
