NDP Leader @AndreaHorwath to Doug Ford: Do you think getting beer into corner stores is more important than vaccinating children, or providing school breakfast programs? #onpoli#onhealth
Horwath: The Mayor of Toronto yesterday challenged Ford's reckless cuts to public health, and mayors across Ontario say Ford is engaged in downloading by stealth. Just yesterday #LdnOnt announced that the Ford govt cuts have created a $4 million hole their budget. #onpoli
Horwath: Chair of Kingston Board of Health laid out the dangers: “We simply cannot afford to have any infectious outbreak, like SARS, or water contamination event, like Walkerton. History tells us the next threat is just around the corner….” ipolitics.ca/2019/05/06/ont…#onpoli
Horwath: Virtually every municipality across Ontario is facing direct cuts to child care funding. Today mothers from across Ontario have come to Queen’s Park to express their concern. Will Ford listen, or will he tell them not to into "meddle into things they don’t understand"?
Horwath: Ford is creating a crisis. And it won’t disappear just because he denies it. One parent joining us today fom the riding of Huron-Bruce warns that Ford's cuts: "will make child care harder to access, more expensive and put young children and families at risk.” #onpoli
Horwath: The Ford govt kept these cuts hidden from families, because they know how shameful and heartless they really are, and they know they are targeting low income families most in need.
Ford did not receive a mandate to slash not-for-profit #childcare funding. #onpoli
Horwath: Just this week we’ve seen reports of nearly 40 classes being removed from a secondary school in Stoufville. With subjects like media studies, music, history and French all being scrapped because Ford fired the people who teach them. #onted#onpoli#StudentsSayNo
Horwath: Ontario’s students are watching as Ford tears up their plans for their education, leaving them to pick up the pieces.
Why is Doug Ford so determined to leave students with less options in our schools and fewer prospects after they graduate? #onpoli#StudentsSayNo
NDP MPP @TarasNatyshak to Ford: New Democrats would like to help the identify the most wasteful spending in Ford's Budget. Is it:
💰 House Leader’s secret junket to India
💰 Finance Minister’s visit to NYC
💰 Ford's off-the-books personal pleasure wagon #onpoli
Natyshak: Ford has criticized Mayor John Tory for “irresponsibly wading into provincial issues he is neither involved in or understands."
It's annoying when another level of govt irresponsibly wades into issues that they don’t understand. Can Ford explain why he does it so often?

A timeline of Merrilee Fullerton, Doug Ford’s Minister of Long-Term Care, downplaying how many seniors are getting sick and dying in long-term care, playing a callous numbers game to avoid having to spend money to hire staff and implement infection control measures. 1/6
On Sept. 22, there were 58 resident cases:
“Ninety-nine per cent of our long-term-care homes have no resident cases.” - Merrilee Fullerton 2/6 hansardindex.ontla.on.ca/hansardespeake…
On Oct. 5, there were 136 resident cases:

Premier Doug Ford and Health Minister Christine Elliott lied when they said their decision to cancel many public health protections was based on expert advice.
A TIMELINE OF LIES brought to you by Doug Ford's Conservative government:
Doug Ford, Nov. 3: “This framework was developed in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health, the Public Health Measures Table, local medical officers of health, and other health system experts.” #FordLied#Covid19#Covid19Ontario
FACT CHECK TIMELINE: As Ontario reaches yet another record high number of new #COVID19 cases, Doug Ford needs to explain why he and his govt have been minimizing the impact of COVID’s second wave on Ontario families, and cutting back on public health measures...

October 6 — 548 new COVID-19 cases reported in Ontario.
Today, the courts ruled against Doug Ford’s cut to OHIP coverage for Ontarians when they’re travelling.
This makes SEVEN court battles lost by Doug Ford and his PC govt, wasting precious public dollars defending his cutting agenda. #onpoli
There’s a lot to unpack here, first of all, the ‘free market’ would not have the business opportunity to operate COVID-19 tests at a high price if the gov’t was on top of testing – but they’re leaving people behind.
Everyday Ontarians are waiting hours in line to get their COVID-19 test. While the gov’t has been saying for months that “they’re hammering away at testing” but experts disagree: ontariondp.ca/news/fact-chec…
If testing was as easy and accessible as it should be with a public health system, there would not be a market for $400 testing kits for those that can afford it. Demand the gov’t invest in testing now: ontariondp.ca/demand-covid-1…
