Few months after birth, babies lose the hair they are born with. As they grow, the hairs start to grow out, some faster than others. But there are situations where the hairs don’t grow at all or don’t grow as you’d like.
This may be due to underlying conditions. Or it may be for some other reasons. Whatever the reason, these tips should trigger the growth of your child’s hair into fullness and lushness.

.@POTUS famously said “Show me your budget and I’ll tell you what you value,” and President Biden made it so clear today – he values strong care infrastructure! This budget would be a huge win for the whole care economy 🧵……
.@POTUS recognizes the struggles people all over the country face balancing their care responsibilities. These historic investments in #ChildCare #PaidLeave and #AgingAnd DisabilityCare will lower costs for families and build the care infrastructure we desperately need.
The budget from @POTUS recognizes that in order to create an equitable economy, we must address the needs of paid and unpaid caregivers. Investments in child care and #HCBS care workers—who are mostly women and women of color—provide family sustaining wages.

If your state is looking to improve the lives of children & strengthen its #earlychildhood systems, the question to ask is: How do we compare to New Mexico? Below I’ll unpack just a few of the recent reforms that have catapulted the state to model status. 🧵
Because this is a story about change, it’s important to begin with a little context about the very real needs driving action. New Mexico has been persistently challenged on measures of child wellbeing, ranked 50th in the nation by @aecfkidscount as recently as this year.
But this data (which can lag several years in its reporting) really tells more about the impetus for change than it provides a real-time look at what’s happening on the ground. What is the state doing to address it? The better question might be what aren’t they doing?

Hi all!
It's a 10 minute warning on the start of #Democrat Congressional candidate in #PA01, @ashley_ehasz's #townhall on #ReproductiveFreedom and the role of Congress.

You can watch here:

We'll be live tweeting the whole thing!
If you attended the @ashley_ehasz #PA01 #townhall in person, you'd have seen this (#Antichoice #GOP extremist Brian Fitzpatrick) cardboard guy out front.

That's as close as any version of Fitz would get to a town hall. He sprints away from unscripted constituent contact!
In case you want a run down of the legislative goods on #GOP #Antichoice extremist Brian Fitzpatrick of #PA01, here's the rundown...

The TL;DR is that Brian Fitzpatrick has ALWAYS voted AGAINST #AbortionRights.

He's no moderate, don't drink the Kool-aid on that!

Important public policy isn’t always headline grabbing. Often dry-sounding bureaucratic reforms go a long way toward making life better for children & families. So today let’s unpack 3 recent system wins for young children that your state might be wise to consider: 🧵
We’ll begin in Oregon, where this week the federal government signed off on a groundbreaking pilot program to change to Medicaid eligibility for young children. To help put it in context, here’s a little background…
Medicaid is the nation’s public health insurance program for low income families - and is, accordingly, means tested. One associated challenge is that as work and income come and go for families, so too can Medicaid eligibility.

Glad to see Bloomberg @business covering our new paper on the impact of child care subsidy expansions -- very relevant to the policy debate happening as we speak! 1/n…
@business In paper, joint w/amazing team of #ECE #childcare researchers (@ChrisMHerbst @aaronsojourner @Erdal_Tekin_ @jonathanborows2 @Liz1515Liz @realMattWiswall), we model childcare subsidy policies closely resembling current proposals (BBB, Murray-Kaine) 2/n Image
We look at many outcomes: ECE use by sector, family ECE expenses, moms' employment, ECE teacher wages, market prices & total costs. Impt to model equilibrium, rather than simple static framework (w/ no change in hrs or types of care), b/c behavioral responses are key here. 3/n

As much as I love everyone FINALLY embracing remote work from anywhere, been in this game for a while now…

In 2016, I set out to build a globally competitive AI #startup from Sault Ste Marie, Canada.

Here’s how that went:
I had a vision.
I had a dream.

I wanted to revitalize a steeltown with tech.

I wanted to prove that you could build best-in-class tech from ANYWHERE in the world. In 2016.

I was proven wrong.
I was literally laughed at by Toronto investors.

Most Waterloo investors didn’t believe my dreams could be possible up “North”.

I ultimately determined that local Soo investors would have been more likely to fund a cupcake shop than deep tech AI; despite endless attempts.

#Childcare #Mother #India

Among other oppressive forces working against women, one that is most difficult to face is "children need mother in early years".

This leads to exclusion of women from workforce for long periods.

Let's look at this assumption about mother's role.
A baby needs mother figure for attachment and nourishment. This is undeniable.

Key question is - How long?
In most traditional households this responsibility is continued literally till kids become adults and marry. !!

🧵 #BuildBackBetter immediately increases access to #childcare by increasing income eligibility right away. @ALG_G21 details state-by-state how the current system compares to the eligibility limit in the first year #BuildBackBetter Act.
Under #CCDBG, families with incomes up to 85% SMI have access to #childcare assistance. But with limited resources, states often set their initial income eligibility below that.
#BuildBackBetter Act would expand eligibility from day one to 100 percent SMI. This means the maximum amount a family can earn and still receive assistance, would increase by thousands of dollars.

Avg. annual cost of #childcare for one toddler in Kansas is $10k/yr 😳 With #BuildBackBetter, child care costs would decrease significantly for families of 9 in 10 young children in Kansas. What could these savings mean for you and your family? 🧵
