Never thought I’d be laughing through the penultimate Game of Thrones episode but here we are. This bowl of fruit loops cereal covered in marinara is a disaster. Now it’s a race to see if they can be more disappointing than Lost.
Ok, armchair screenwriter time. I realize what an incredible puzzle it is to create anything with as much awesome as GoT has and I can certainly forgive a to of stuff however this last season is rife with missteps and lost opportunities. Here is one thing that I would have loved
Who really cares as Jamie and the poor man’s Joshua Jackson, Euron fight to the death. We know Jamie has this. Ok so he’s mortality wounded and staggering to reach Cersei in the keep after dispatching Dawson’s bestie from the ocean. We cut to Clegane saying goodbye to Arya.
She agrees to leave with the thank you line and bolts. City is burning, people screaming. We skip CleganeBowl. Cersei is down in the depths and she sees Jamie, weak and wounded. They embrace. “I never thought I’d see you again” Cersei blubbers through her tears.
“And you never will!” In a flash Jamie morphs into Arya and plunges a dagger into Cersei, exacting her revenge for her father and her house. We watch as Arya walks back out through the caverns and passes the body of Jamie who had succumb to his wounds inflicted
By Pacy Whittaker of the Greyjoys. She spits on the body of Euron as she walks to the dingy left by Tyrion. We see her rowing off into the dark blue sea, alone and resolute. A master assassin and certified bad ass, off to find adventures finally free from the game of thrones.
As for any semblance of resolution for any of these characters at this point, good fucking luck. This show is Matrix sequel levels of beyond help now.
