solidarity with cliff wife, as someone who also got a scraped elbow on a hawaiian cliff 
as the wave crashed over me, i dug my fingertips into the volcanic rock, thinking it was the end.
as i lay sputtering & heaving in the tidepool, somehow still alive, my sister said “MOM WOULD HAVE KILLED ME IF YOU FELL OFF A CLIFF.”

real talk though, the makapuu tidepools are beautiful but people do die there. don’t become a cliff wife statistic.
