i made a joke about christmas suicides once and my psychiatrist, a serious, bow tie wearing older gentleman, shook his head and very solemnly said, no, may is what you have to watch out for.
folks, meltdown may is real. my doctor told me.
reading some studies now about the seasonal variation in psychiatric admissions and uh... several of them explicitly tie the pattern to rising temperatures. this is a consequence of climate change i hadn't considered.
like, i've read plenty of jokes about climate change extending meltdown may, but if rising temperatures really are an underlying cause of the summer spike in serious psychiatric crises, we could be in for a rough ride.
