NYU has canceled the class "Reporting on the Far Right" originally going to be taught by Talia Lavin after only two students signed up

Lavin resigned from the New Yorker last year after falsely accusing a disabled ICE agent of having a Nazi tattoo

Am told by @Penenberg that the decision to cancel had nothing to do with Lavin's past issues or other writings but was only a result of low enrollment

The Boston Globe has unpublished an opinion piece which suggested restaurants servers "tamper" with the food of Trump officials

"it did not receive sufficient editorial oversight and did not meet Globe standards. The Globe regrets its lack of vigilance"

Just weeks after leaving the New Yorker, Lavin was hired by Media Matters to work as a researcher on "far-right extremism" — and though she continues to represent herself as employed there on LinkedIn, I'm told she left the organization months ago.

👉 Strong balancesheet or weak balancesheet (debt-to-equity-ratio) & how it's rated for Financial Strength.

👉 The cash position. Net cash provides floor on the stock.

NEW: We tried to file our taxes for free on TurboTax as a lower-income American. We found deceptive design, misleading Google ads, and digital tags TurboTax uses to make sure we paid to file, even though we were eligible to do it for free.

Intuit, the maker of TurboTax, has chosen to create a “Free Edition” which, if you click, actually puts you on track to potentially pay $60 or $120. It even tags you in the source code as not in the truly free version.

Unlike the “Free Edition,” the truly free version is called the “Freedom Edition.” At one point we actually googled for the Freedom Edition and found that TurboTax had purchased ads that tried to route us to the (paid track) “Free Edition”

Right now, rank & file lawmakers are asking leaders for $$$ for public schools, homeless housing, human services COLAs & crucial disability services.

The top 1% got the vast majority of income & wealth gains over the last decade. Corporate profits & investments grew far faster than wages.

The Trump tax plan gave NY millionaires & billionaires big tax cuts — while actually raising federal taxes on middle-class households.
Now is the perfect time to reform New York state tax laws to address the wild inequities of the “GOP Tax Scam.”

It's time for the ultramillionaires & billionaires who got the Trump tax cuts for the rich to give some back to pay for schools & services that all New Yorkers need.
