NYU has hired Talia Lavin to teach an undergraduate course called "Reporting on the Far Right"

Lavin resigned from the New Yorker last year after falsely accusing a disabled war veteran of having a Nazi tattoo

Just weeks after leaving the New Yorker, Lavin was hired by Media Matters to work as a researcher on "far-right extremism" — and though she continues to represent herself as employed there on LinkedIn, I'm told she left the organization months ago.

"I don't know why someone who had to quit their journalism job for falsely implying someone is a Nazi should be teaching at NYU. I know there are plenty of reporters out there in need of work who haven't made a mistake like that."

I am told by a person in the know that tweeting "learn to code" at any recently laid off journalist will be treated as "abusive behavior" and is a violation of Twitter's Terms of Service
UPDATE:

Source was a Twitter spokesperson. Company has issued following clarification.

"It's more nuanced than what you reported. Twitter is responding to a targeted harassment campaign against specific individuals — a policy that's long been against the Twitter Rules"
Just to be clear. They are backing away from what they originally told me. This "more nuanced" business was not part of my original email exchange with them. They also requested that I share this link on abusive behavior

NEW: @pacificlife has suspended advertising on Tucker Carlson as it "reevaluates" its relationship with the show.

Decision came after this segment in which Carlson said immigrants make us "poorer and dirtier and more divided”

Hi @bennyglish, let's talk about today's front page of the @dailytelegraph. You say you wish "peace" upon "Muslims everywhere". That's a really nice sentiment. I hope you're planning on backing it up by admitting how the paper you edit has stoked hatred against Muslims for years.
What does wishing peace upon Muslims mean to you? Does it mean the @dailytelegraph will stop running defamatory campaigns against Muslim leaders that falsely accuse them of failing to condemn terrorism, and criticise them for "not speaking English"?
Does it mean the @dailytelegraph will refuse to publish work from its columnists that calls migration an "invasion", and cites talking points that originated with far-right extremist groups?

Do you know what one of the worst bits about being #disabled is? It's having NO CHOICE about so much stuff.

I rely so much on my husband, my cleaning ladies and a wide variety of delivery services to bring me stuff.

For example - @sainsburys have been really annoying (1)
I ordered one product, @sainsburys mistakenly delivered another. I can't get to store to exchange it. I've tried to get a refund for this FIVE TIMES over the last few days - I was definitely being phoned on Monday, except I wasn't. #SainsburysRant (2)
Now the reason this is upsetting is that I don't have the product I ordered, paid for and wanted.

I can barely walk. I find it close to impossible to go to a small shop: I can't get to a supermarket to buy the things I want. #SainsburysRant (3)

Right, here we go. Please fasten seat-belts and make sure your trays are stowed in an upright position, and prepare for rebuttal of the @peoplesvote_uk "dodgy dossier" (this may be a long one....... there is a lot to rebut). You may wish to take tea and come back in an hour.
Essentially the #PVdodgyDossier repeats a few easy-to-discredit old anti-EEA myths, with a smattering of deeper research meant to be authoritative yet isn't. Shame as the author @jonlis1 is a solid researcher let-down by not knowing the law & having his work "edited" by PV.
I have covered two of the myths ("rule taker" and "continuing contributions") in this article. reaction.life/eea-efta-can-f… This is probably as good a place to start as any to understand why the #PVdodgyDossier is so unreliable.
