SUBPOENA UPDATE: The WH has directed Hope Hicks and Annie Donaldson not to turn over any documents to the House Judiciary Committee about their time in the administration, @PamelaBrownCNN and @jeremyherb. Hicks and Donaldson are key witnesses in the obstruction investigation.
What could Hope Hicks testify about? She was there when Trump and his team concocted the cover-up story for the Trump Tower meeting with Russians. She was one of Trump's closest aides and could testify to his statement of mind during key moments in the Russia investigation.
What could Annie Donaldson testify about? She was McGahn's deputy and took copious notes. Her notes detail how Trump directed McGahn to fire Mueller, and later told McGahn to lied to the press about it. (These episodes were among the strongest proof of obstruction in the report.)

How would UK politics change if a snap election was automatically triggered whenever the PM resigns from office OR loses a no-confidence vote?
I ask because I'm thinking about the election to replace Theresa May. To pick the next PM: ~300 Conservative MPs will vote for several rounds, then possibly the ~124,000 Conservative Party members could pick if the field narrows down to just 2 candidates.(Am I right, @lukemcgee?)
It's an interesting situation now. Imagine if voter turnout for the party-wide election was 100% and every Conservative Party member sent in a ballot. The winner becomes PM. That means <1% of the 47 million registered voters in the UK could actually vote.

George Nader's lawyers pushed back today in court. “If you look at the images, it’s not clear all of them are child pornography,” his lawyer said, citing a video allegedly found on Nader's phone that showed a prepubescent boy who was not fully dressed. (The judge balked at this.)
Despite the effort by Nader’s team, a federal magistrate judge ruled today that prosecutors established probable cause. This means the case against Nader will move to a grand jury, presumably to bring an indictment. (He was charged via criminal complaint, not indicted yet.)
An FBI agent, who was not involved in the case until last week, testified Monday that the videos were sent and received on the WhatsApp messaging application. The agent also said there were text messages in a foreign language, but the FBI hadn’t translated it to English yet.

New details from today’s hearing: George Nader's defense attorneys unsuccessfully pleaded with the judge to release him from jail, so he could move to a long-term medical facility.
Nader recently had open-heart surgery and is dealing with a “very serious health condition,” his lawyers said.
Nader’s lawyers said he was prepared to tap into his $3 million net worth and hire a private security firm to provide around-the-clock armed guards outside his hospital room.

Here's the Barr contempt resolution that the committee will be taking up today: judiciary.house.gov/sites/democrat… This is not the final vote, though — once the committee votes, it'll then go to the full House

1/ Just moments before Eric Holder was voted in contempt of Congress by Republicans and Democrats in June 2012 , Obama asserted executive privilege over thousands of documents related to Operation Fast and Furious.
2/ Holder was held in contempt for stonewalling and failing to turn over the documents to the House Oversight Committee. Obama granted the executive privilege request despite claiming to have no knowledge about Operation Fast and Furious when it was active from 2009-2010.
3/ Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed by Mexican bandits in December 2010 and guns from the operation were found at the murder scene.
