A bit of background to #KAV @KavangoRes and their RNS today, which is generating deserved interest 1/

Good examples of this are #MOD @ModResources in Botswana. Their T3 deposit is hidden under featureless desert. It was found by soil anomalies and fancy geophysics before drilling. 3/

#GGP @GreatlandGold have also had great success in Australia, again with little to no visible clue at surface as to what is beneath. 5/
Modern exploration is thus heavily dependent on pushing the envelope with technologies that can look under such cover and find targets to test with the drill bit. 6/

The answer is to use airborne EM to look for metal-rich conductors at depth. Trouble is, traditional airborne EM has a depth limit due to EM noise from the chopper etc. 10/
The breakthrough in the last couple of years is a new 12.5 Hz technique pioneered by Danish firm SkyTEM. This probes much much deeper into the sediments and well into the region #KAV are targeting

This has now allowed #KAV to see uptown 700m deep into the sediment and intrusions, which is just what was needed. That's today's RNS. 13/

In conclusion - the SkyTEM seems to have delivered what was needed, giving data on the areas #KAV wanted.
