In January this year, HOPE was involved in published work on: social fragmentation, patient reported outcomes of hip-replacement surgery, economic evaluation of changes to the organisation and delivery of health services, and the Vanguard new care models programme.

We've just released the final report by @Alston_UNSR, the UN Special Rapporteur on extreme #poverty, on his visit to the #UK. The report is available here: undocs.org/A/HRC/41/39/Ad…. A few key takeaways:
Some have asked me why a UN expert on #poverty would visit the #UK. Unfortunately, although the UK is the world’s 5th largest economy, 14 million are in poverty, child poverty is rising & predicted to reach 40% by 2021, homelessness is up 60%, and food bank use has skyrocketed.
To understand #poverty in the #UK, you have to look at the massive disinvestment in social support since 2010: the end of a centralized social fund, changes to the ways benefits are capped & calculated that substantially reduce their value, the decimation of civil legal aid, etc.

Proud to have led this #clusterRCT, presented @ESCCardio's #LBCT session & published today in @JAMA_current. Among 2495 adults (50% women) hospitalized for #HF, a transitional care model implemented in our publiclyfunded system did not ⬇️time to comp readmission/ED visit/death.
There was a significant improvement in the patient-reported outcomes of #discharge-preparedness, #qualityofcaretransition, and #QOL. However, there was no improvement in #QALY. The #PROs were not adjusted for multiplicity, but we will do post-hoc exploratory analysis.

MeSH fun includes being indexed with "Telepathy"[Majr]. I assume based on context it should maybe have been "Telepathology"[Mesh]. But also... did you know there is a Mesh term for telepathy?
