We are horrified - but not surprised - at the assault by two uniformed men from the 'Drumchapel Protestant Boys' Orange Flute Band on a young woman trying tocross the road on Saturday am in Glasgow. We assume this will be investigated by @policescotland and the culprits charged.
This was not the only incident which the authorities should be looking at. Here the same band now in the Saltmarket plays a tune to which predictably their followers supplied the words - as usual they are delighting in the thought of being 'up to their knees in Fenian blood'.
Having voluntarily rerouted away from St Alphonsus, the Loyal Orders took the unnecessary step of parading past Blessed John Duns Scotus on Ballater St. Here they flouted the conditions by playing while passing the Church - refusing instructions from the Police to stop.
If you add to this the numerous recorded incidents of petty criminality routinely ignored by officers present then the public have a right to know why this is being condoned and accepted by both @policescotland and @GlasgowCC
Perhaps @theheraldtimes @Daily_Record @BBCScotlandNews or @RadioClydeNews @STVNews @GoRadio could ask them because it looks to us as though anti-Catholic marchers don't just get their civil rights to march, they get special treatment which allows them the right to break the law.
Here is another section of the same parade - this time the Bridgeton No Surrender band stopping and playing for one and a half minutes almost directly in front of the church. This cannot be allowed to happen again.
